Retro Game Tip suggestion

Hey guys live in the NYC area and jesus this place has nothing. I have not found a SNES game in the wild EVER. I've gone to every flea market in and out of the area including NJ. If anyone has any recommendations for this area it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S also if anyone has any tips in general for finding game that would great aswell.

Nice, there's Bookoff in the US? It's a really awesome place for games in Japan. Also another chain called Hard-off (that name, I know) that sells games and tons of cheap consoles.

I hit my Southern CA BookOff every other week, usually make the marathon sweep of all the stores in La La Land once every few months.

I used to be a 30~ min drive from the San Diego bookoff and i'd go there probably once a month or two as it was so worth it. I miss the place. I'd go down there and hit that up, the Murakai Market corner across the street and there was a Japanese grocery/eatery place in the same center I'd get some take home snacks and maybe manga in there too as they had a corner.

The game selection was pretty decent but the few times I've gone back in the last 3 years it has become picked over, somewhat overpriced, and a good bit of the gem import games I care about (handheld) were gone other than the must know Japanese stuff. The same could be said for another near the 405/5 freeway area in LA county kind of near Downey area.

I probably will be heading back that way this year some time, won't have a shot at the SD one but given we'll stay with some of the wife's family I may hit that one up again and see what happens. Last time out there I got a couple fun manga at that one, and the SD one I found Tetris Advance(JP) the only good GBA tetris which has lots of amazing modes and no shitty Tetris Worlds infecting it.

The thing is if they're picked over the NYC one probably would be too as people caught on you can get overseas stuff cheaper and enjoy it still while others will treat it like a goodwill and roll it for anything they can flip. If you can't get there regularly enough to get your piece of the action it may just be a total luck game at best if you're just after games. Manga though, it's all 50% off, and if it sits more than a few months it's dropped to the $1-2 pile which you can find lots of fun stuff in.

I've been hitting up Amazon Warehouse a lot for older stuff. Amazon gets a pretty interesting variety of stuff traded in and it all ends up there. That being said 90% of the time the prices are pretty high. However there are glitches/bad listings, and price drops pretty frequently. All of it's through Amazon so if you have prime there is free two day shipping or you can get a $1 digital credit for slow shipping which is what I usually do.

Started up a thread for it a while back where I occasionally post up deals while I browse.

Cynicism incoming:

In any area I'd do a sweep of the places you're typically going to be able to get out to. After a handful of tries at each place I'd probably be hard-pressed to keep going back if it's bone dry every time. The hobby is insane right now and some people seem like they're practically devoting their lives to finding stuff before you do. If it seems dry in your area, well there's always treating yourself on eBay once in awhile.....

I'd say most places in New York are going to be pretty picked over or high on prices unless you get really lucky. I do a little selling on eBay and about 1/3 people buying something is in New York.
