Re: Update: SoCal Retro Game Expo
Just an update. Southern California's first ever Retro Gaming Expo took place this past weekend. I've never had a chance to experience such an event and in a way I feel like I still haven't simply because I participated in this event as a vendor and not a patron. I had absolutely Zero opportunity to even walk around and check out the floor let alone purchase anything for myself or even enjoy the other activities that took place. It was simply overwhelmingly busy, i was too determined to do my best at my booth to help customers and make sales. It was exhausting and alot of hard work to take part in one of these things. With that said it was a very eye opening experience and enjoyable to a degree. At least I made quite tidy profit from my sales. I had set a reasonable goal on how much I wanted to make on each day and to my suprise I not only reached it, but surpassed it even with sunday weather being pretty bad causing less of an attendance on that day. I feel like I learned important lesson out of all of this. I'm just not cut out for sales
Picture provided was my floor space and much of the inventory I took to the expo.

Re: Update: SoCal Retro Game Expo
I got there by 1pm I think so. I actually started all the way back entrance. I was wondering where are the game booths. Everything was mostly overpriced including few repo cart vendors. Some lil kid bought secret of mana repo for $50 which is considered a rip off. He wanted to return it cause he didn't have any more money to spend.
I saw sega Genesis Contra box and game for $90, which is too much, hard game. I think I spent about $25 overall. I tried to go to your booth but it was crowded as and most of your stuff was bought out. I'm done with buying GameCube, ps1,ps2, and ps3.
I think super video games bros booth and game swappers were aggressive/snarky something felt a little odd about them. I wish it was bigger with more vendors. There was some lame vendors selling posters or arts crafts. Sunday was worst cause it mostly rained all day.
I wish they did Friday instead of two days

Re: Update: SoCal Retro Game Expo
Hey Bendrex. I certainly appreciate your feedback very much. Like I mentioned in the previous post, I had no time to explore the expo at all so its quite interesting getting your personal perspective on the event. 3 day event would be better, true. Most of my friends who attended did mention that prices were a tad high on most of the stuff there. It was quite a concern of mine if most of my stuff was too overpriced. I did my best to makes prices reasonable and I was open to customer offers and trades. Most of my profits consisted of Dreamcast hardware/game sales, Sealed GCN titles, Sealed PS2 games and alot of video game related merch like toys and figures. Yeah, I made sure to restock and bring more items for Sunday as I got alot of requests from Day 1 customers and wanted to fulfill. Good thing too because they showed up the next day regardless of the bad weather. I was getting alot of customers asking me for my store location and instagram. I unfortunately have none of those.
It would have been awesome to see a fellow Racketboy member in person, I wished you could've stopped by to say hi. But I understand. Saturday was chaotic. I was drained by Sunday

I think you had Samurai Shodown Anthology for $30 on display, I think, but it was hard to walk through all areas. This girl shoved into me while saying excuse me! She didn't have patience.
This is not my video at all or not featured in the background. Chaotic for sure, slap those gaming whore hands.

Wow! Thanks for sharing that video. That's crazy. Yeah. I had Earthbound for $180 on my booth and I was selling that for a friend. I kept asking him to lower it if he want to make a sale. He wanted $200 for it initially.
