Well, you have to remember he's prolly using a wacom thing. With that, it's very easy to get good at making pictures like that. I'm not saying it's instanataneous, nor that's it's necesarily easy, but if you practiced everyday, just making one picture, in less than half a year you could prolly do something like that.
I have an old hand-me-down Wacom tablet and I suck at it.
I guess you really need to practice on it to be good.
I got frustrated and it's now in my closet.
well, it depends on the program, the tablet, and how well you are at drawing with a normal set of art tools. If you can't draw with a pencil or pen well, chances are it will be the same on a wacom.

I can draw pretty well (Graphic Design minor here), but IMO it has a much different feel than a pencil and paper.

Well, like I said, it has a lot to do with the program and the tablet itself. From what friends say, the wacom tablet should really feel like a pencil or pen. I guess it also has to do with how comfortable you are with doing everything as well...
