It is strange to me that the stand-alone version is going up in price. (I opted for the NSMBU/NSLU combo pack.)

Is the combo pack two discs or is NSLU just on the main NSMBU disc?prfsnl_gmr wrote:It is strange to me that the stand-alone version is going up in price. (I opted for the NSMBU/NSLU combo pack.)
You can get the combo for $54 free shipping on eBay - which I think is down a bit from an initial surge there.

It is just one disc with both games on it. I was lucky enough to find a copy of the game at a pawn shop for $20, but despite being a pck-in, I do not think that they are easy to find in the wild.retrosportsgamer wrote:Is the combo pack two discs or is NSLU just on the main NSMBU disc?prfsnl_gmr wrote:It is strange to me that the stand-alone version is going up in price. I actually own Super Luigi U... but it's a dead disc. They had some manufacturing issues, so I'm pretty sure it's that. And since I bought it from Dirt Cheap, it's one of those "no refunds, returns, or exchanges" deals. Just the risk you take, I suppose. I've certainly come out well ahead there over the years.

I bought it new to put on my shelf, but I think I've only put it in the Wii U once; I downloaded it as DLC before I knew that there was going to be a stand alone physical release.Sarge wrote:I actually own Super Luigi U... but it's a dead disc. Back on the Rodea The Sky Soldier kick for a second, there seems to be quite a few brand new copies of the combo version on eBay. $41 with free shipping.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
That's one I've been wanting to play and add to my collection. And I was astounded that at GameStop its' still quite pricey.
My power-up rewards pro just ended, it might be time to fire up my sub again and get that buy 2 get one coupon and snag it and Donkey Kong, Wind Waker, Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, or Wonderful 101.
It's tough man, I can hardly find W101 or Pikmin 3 locally.
Rodea though you can find nicely on Amazon: $36.93 Prime Shipping.

I don't know, I bought mine new from Amazon just last month and it was kind of a gamble, but it came with both versions.retrosportsgamer wrote:That's the WiiU version sans the Wii bonus disc though.Blu wrote: Rodea though you can find nicely on Amazon: $36.93 Prime Shipping.

New Super Luigi U works well (as it should have since the seller did say he tested) thankfully and I do appreciate the inherent challenge with the short clock and tougher levels. Playing it solo (we initially bought it to play co-op and my wife did NOT like the 100 seconds and raised diffculty) and seeing how far i can make it.
