What would you do with $399

Post by scottykick »

I have been thinking about picking up a 360 for some time, now that there is an Elite coming out with RE5 packed in for $399 I think that is a pretty good value.

However $399 could also be spent on a system I already own such as PS2 or Wii. There are a handful of good looking Wii games coming out, and still a few that I want to pick up and never have.

So what would you spend $399 on

X-Box 360 RE5 Bundle

or

Wii Games
Madworld
House of the Dead: Overkill
Zak & Wiki
No More Heroes
MLB Power Pros 2008
Mario Galaxy
De Blob
Scarface
Deadly Creatures
Zelda

The question becomes how many other 360 games you'd be interested in.

I'm pretty sure that 360 is the last of the current gen systems I'd actually want. I think if you had a PS3 and a Wii then you'd be able to get pretty much any games you wanted for those.

off the top of my head, the 360 games I like are

Fable 2
Fallout 3
GTA 4
Gears of War
Gears of War 2
Halo 3
UFC 2009
Legends of Wrestlemania
Call of Duty 4

I know most of those are multi platform, but there are probably as many PS3 exclusives that I would want as well.

Now if the kick ass "Rising Dragon" PS3 was being released here, I would jump at that.

The decision between 360 & PS3 has been tough, I know about 5 guys who have a 360, and 2 who have PS3, they all love their systems, but Live seems to be the better option for online play.

I would personally go with the Wii games. Much more gaming for your buck. Except I didn't like Power Pros 2008. I would spend that $40 on WiiWare games. You could get World of Goo, Tetris Party, and Onslaught (or Bomberman Blast if you like Bomberman) for $37.

XBoxLive is better than PSN, but if you already have Wii Virtual Console, yr kind of all set there (I think).

360 (or a ps3)

Personally right now I'd pay bills!

it depends on what you want to play.

if you want to play more hardcore HD stuff, and games online- the xbox is the way to go. The 360 is in about the middle of its life so you might want to consider that you can find really good games super cheap because of it. If you have friends on xbox live it might the way to go. Playing online with a good group of people is pretty fun.

[wii pros deleted- misread the first post]

Something that may sway you is that the wii is getting to be the homebrew platform of choice and has become pretty easy to pirate on. When the hacks were coming out, they were pretty difficult to wrap your head around. They required patching games before you burn them and stuff like that. Now the homebrew community has just created a new softmii pack that lets you play strait burns from the disc channel. So you know- if you are a pirate you could just do that and get the ps3. Then later, buy the games that you really loved.
