To put it in perspective, you're getting probably 80 more levels with the Classic Collection. Doom 2 Master Levels + Final Doom (don't forget it's Plutonia and TNT, both completely separate episodes), and then the shorter No Rest for the Living. It's like... 21+32+32+8 or something.

I'm a big fan of ZDoom and the source ports myself, so the better question is if you want to easily play on the TV with a controller or not. I think the Classic Collection was great and played well with the PS3 controller. I'm cool with playing vanilla Doom with all the ports out there and kind of want to start collecting them haha, but when it comes to fanmade megawads and episodes that's when I jump on ZDoom.

I'd be happy with a control in my hand and Doom on the TV for now. ZDoom and WADS and such should probably wait until I'm at a safer place for downloads. My wifi isn't the safest right now, and one of my neighbors is hogging the crap out of the access point, I assume they're torrenting something.

Had to get a new XB1 controller for my PC usage today, so I went to GameStop and got that Lunar White edition. Got it for like $22 after trading in my old one with a wonky d-pad (of course they didn't test it) and a $10 off coupon. I immediately notice a difference in d-pad height, stick play, and the rubberized grip on the back. Recommended if you're in the market.

Good idea for GameStop to test the waters. I do find it disconcerting that we're barreling head-on into the all-digital age...

Digital has its advantages. No more worrying about limited run games falling out of print quickly, no more concern about game condition and completeness, no more rearranging this room to create additional shelf space.....

Of course there are some inherent issues with it, naturally. The second-hand market would disappear, which would be an enormous annoyance.
