If this was aimed at my comment about RGB earlier in the thread, I was talking about RGB SCART as I have a PAL Gamecube and 480p isn't available in most PAL games anyway without changing the internal region.k.vlaros wrote:Couple things....
Consumer "component" video such as the GC companent cable is not RGB video. It is YPbPr.

Is my second time, really love this game! My favorite part is when you start making your pirate crew!jmbarnes101 wrote:Absolutely can't go wrong playing Skies of Arcadia. Is this your first time playing?
Nice pickups EE, all of them are solid or better games.
I haven't found much recently other then a couple of SpongeBob games, Animal Crossing and Pokemon: Gale of Darkness for cheap. Animal Crossing is in the auction and Pokemon is going to a friend, both are doubles.

Ok, since when the heck did Chibi Robo get so EXPENSIVE?!
The weekly series Continue? on Youtube featured this game today and I went to VGPC to find out the price shot up seriously high in 2015. It used to be had for around $20-$30 complete, now it's doing $50-$70 easy.
Nintendo premium at it again?

That game was really high for a while, then it dropped down a bit for a few years, at least the PAL copy anyway.
Then Nintendo released a new Chibi-Robo game in the west and enough people thought 'hey, I should check the original out, I hear it's pretty good' that it drove the prices back to where they were before.
Also, that game is pretty good, you should all check the original out.

You can get the Japanese Wii version for an okay price and make an English patched copy if you have a modded system.

Chibi Robo at least at retail stores I've noticed has been around or above original retail for a long while now which is sad. I'm glad I never sold mine off because it was such unique fun. People tend to overlook this one and usually just throw Pikmin out there from that era as the thing Nintendo did right with a new IP but I always felt this was the better game. Also annoying they dropped Custom Robo too from that period.

Nintendo did release a Custom Robo after the Game Cube era:Tanooki wrote:Also annoying they dropped Custom Robo too from that period.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: Ongoing GameCube discussion thread
I noticed that last week while I was looking through some other Gamecube games I was interested in. Bout damn near had a heart attack and was convinced it was somehow mispriced.ExedExes wrote:Ok, since when the heck did Chibi Robo get so EXPENSIVE?!
Looking at Videogame Pricecharting it looks like it's been slowly inching up until midway through last year and then there was this huge spike, which is right around the time the new game was announced. Even Park Patrol had a little spike around the same time.
So I suspect alienjesus's theory is probably right and this is a case of "Hey that looks neat. Maybe I should go back and play the old ones." syndrome.

One of if not my favorite NGC game. Chibi-Robo is an absolute gem. Quirky, adorable, and just plain fun and I would say worth the money. It was hovering around $20 for a long time and over the past year shot up.
Unfortunately the only sequel that is supposed to be as good is the DS Japanese exclusive, sadly locked away in Japan. I have Park Patrol and didn't care for it nearly as much and the photo game was clunky and just not very good. I haven't tried Zip Lash yet but it's a platformer so not at all the same.
The NGC had some nice new IP, SOME of which we've unfortunately not seen again or haven't seen in the same format.
Animal Crossing - US
Battalion Wars
Chibi-Robo
Custom Robo - US
Dinosaur Planet
Eternal Darkness
Geist
Luigi's Mansion - I would love to try the arcade version
Pikmin
Along with some series we haven't seen again since.
1080 Avalanche
F-Zero
Wave Race
And some great third party games makes this my favorite console.
Btw, trying to find instructions only for Gotcha Force has become impossible. I passed on a set for $25 a couple years ago and regret my decision to do so since I've only seen them once since and they were over $50 with artwork which I don't need.

Re: Ongoing GameCube discussion thread
Battalion Wars had a sequel on the Wii. Though no option to use the superior Gamecube control scheme.
