Especially when American citizens have taken to medical tourism to save money. Something is wrong.

EDIT: No real info to back this up, except for some documentaries with seemingly little agenda. So take that as you will.

People take mini vacations to get procedures, often the cost of the trip, the stay, and the procedure is less than just having it done here in the states. Quality of care was stated to be high as well.

Another interesting documentary showed a place in the Midwest I believe, with almost no access to medical or dental care and very little ability to pay. In this case, once a year a group of volunteers set up camp and did what they could for these people (some who would travel several hours just to reach the camp). Imagine waiting a full year to have a pressing medical issue addressed. Some examples were small issues like cosmetic dental work, others were as serious as cancer. I don't think these people simply couldn't make it to an Emergency room, the problem was that they couldn't afford to go bankrupt on the bills they would incur despite receiving treatment regardless of their inability to pay. Many of them were drug addicts, but many of them were working class citizens with no insurance. In this instance the current system has failed them.

I'm not saying it is horrible, I'm very grateful for the medical care we have been able to get locally. Especially the procedures my wife has undergone, with doctors having good equipment and access to less invasive procedures it has been a blessing. I'm just saying there is a lot of room for improvement.

An interesting article on the socio-economic-religious reasons behind misogynism in Islam and the Islamic communities in Europe, and the efforts of some people to solve the social friction.

I found that article actually very interesting and raises a lot of good points. I agree that Western Women do not have to accept or tolerate sexism. You raise the question then, about integrating into a nation that might contradict your faith. You agree to live under the rule of law. I found the points about commenting on women's dress by Western women lacking honor very interesting. I mean your post comes the day after Sweden denied the asylum of 80,000 refugees.

Refugees or asylum applicants? There is a difference, since everyone who gets to Europe applies for asylum even though there are a number of countries that are seen of dangerous. Last year around half of the 1.000.000 asylum applicants in Germany were actually from the western Balkans and they were just taking advantage of the collapse in border flow as the refugees made their way north, to also go there.

But that doesn't mean they will get refugee status. This is the annoying thing with populists, they use big numbers to scare people, but the reality is always more complex :/

I mean yes, they could likely be refugees seeking asylum. Consider the US' number of refugees granted asylum during our war in the 2000's. It's tiny, considering we destabilized an entire region.

So, 2 states down, 4 different winners. The polls predict that the next several states are going to go in Clinton and Trump's favor. We'll see. Personally, I think Trump will get the GOP nomination (he leads in delegates, and the next several states have him on top) but the Dem nomination seems more like a coin flip. Then again, Clinton has a 100% success rate with those.

I'm really surprised how much Clinton is struggling thus far. I can't stand her, but her polls always reflected good numbers. I guess the fact that I don't know any Clinton supporters IRL is maybe a reflection that she has little organic support after all. She represents 4 more years of Obama, and people are about as excited for that as they were for 4 more years of Bush with McCain.

I really have no idea who will get either party's nomination by this point. I used to think that, while it would be close, Hillary would get the DNC nomination, but Bernie has performed much better than I expected, so while I still think Hillary is more likely to get it, I can't say I'm confident about that prediction anymore. If I had to guess about the RNC nomination, I'd guess Cruz, but seriously, that one's a toss up at this point.
