I'm annoyed they're delaying it over lame network extras kickstarter payouts going to high caused, but if they've pulled the physical handheld release I'm pretty sure I just won't buy it. I don't want 2D platformers on a console like the PS4, same reason why I got Shovel Knight on 3DS as I'm far more likely to play and enjoy a game like that in that environment.

No clue about the physical releases but they were never promised in the first place. The only thing I know about the 3DS release is it's coming at a much later date because they need to make a lot of changes.
TEKTORO wrote:from a consumer standpoint the delay can be frustrating, but your dealing with a brilliant creator that will not disappoint. I'd say stop the doubt and be grateful it's still coming, would you rather not have the game at all?

Quality takes time and I'm pretty sure Keiji feels the pressure from these delays but at this point it's best to deliver than to disappoint after all the hoopla.
Many backers are still reeling from the mediocre demo and just want the game to come out so they can get over it and move on.

If he were saying, "We're working on polishing the game and listening to all of the criticisms to make it better," I'd be happy with the delay. However saying the game is 100% done and they're only working on the online play does not fill me with confidence.

Exactly. I think this is one of the reasons so many people are frustrated and skeptical.

That and the fact he already tried Kickstarting yet another game (Red Mist?), which had secretive funding (announcing that the game would go ahead whether it was successful on Kickstarter or not), as well as trying to do an anime or something (feel free to correct me here), all whilst Mighty No 9 has yet to come out.

True I keep forgetting the game is "complete" so I can agree with the concern. I'm a fan of his so remain optimistic, and with so many projects he's taken on lately it does raise a flag. I haven't tried the demo yet (rather wait ) and been out of the loop so here's to hoping it all works out well.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Red Ash. And yes they were trying to fund an anime series of it as well. The Kickstarter bombed but game is being funded by some Chinese publisher. I'm not sure what became of the anime.

Also they're doing an animated series of Mighty No. 9.

Thanks, that was it. I didn't know they're doing an animated series of Mighty No. 9 too!

Yeah, unlike Red Ash this one's a CGI western animation style show aimed at kids.

To further muddy the waters Capcom is planning a new Mega Man cartoon for 2017.

True story, I rewatched this show all the way through early last year... and had a blast. The episodes flew by and since it was a co-produced by some studio in Japan, the animation holds up better than many other American cartoons. The one liners were legendary. It was MEGA AWESOME. Highly recommended.

It's so stupid. And by that I mean it's incredible.
