I'm tempted to. Already have too many games that aren't getting love. Trying not to extend that to sealed games haha. It's a slippery slope.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Mine are just going to sit on my shelf and take up space until I eventually get around to them.Snatch1414 wrote:I think I am going to cancel my Project X Zone preorder. Yep, there are over 500 lonely games in the "I'll eventually get around to it" category at my house...Snatch1414 wrote:I'm tempted to. Already have too many games that aren't getting love. Maybe I'll play Shinobi II right after I finish Pepper I.

That is exactly why I own Might & Magic 1-9 and Swords of Xeen, among numerous other games.Exhuminator wrote:Think of them as retirement entertainment investments.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Yep, there are over 500 lonely games in the "I'll eventually get around to it" category at my house...

With most of them, they're either "Hey, that looks pretty good on my shelf," "I feel obligated as a gamer and/or game collector to own this game," or "I might eventually have the desire to try that. Someday. Maybe. Perhaps."

I've been jumping around a lot with my gaming recently, mostly due to reading a huge amount of new forums in particular this one and also due to working on a huge hyperspin collection which has helped me play stuff I've never had a chance to and also actually get some non-pc gaming in as I'm in Vietnam and everything is pretty damn expensive if you can even find it.
I've been interested in getting into some more fighters apart from street fighter (2CE, Alpha 3 and 4 Arcade have been my choices). But whenever I boot up a totally new fighter (e.g. any of the SNK fighters) I feel lost. I don't know any of the characters and same regarding gameplay, what kind of combos am I looking for etc. How do you guys get over this feeling? And what 2D fighters are really worth playing (any gen)? I've really been enjoying the Alpha 3's world tour mode which mixed things up and familiarise you with the characters.

I just jump in and bash heads as best I can. I don't concern myself with any fighting game series' lore or character relations.flash1987 wrote:How do you guys get over this feeling?

Yeah, that's a tall order. There are quite a few. Your best bet here would simply be to pick a console or a generation that you want to start with. If you are really concerned about getting into fighting games, it might help to start with some of the ones from the early 1990s to help cement your basics before you try to move on. Also, what playstyle do you prefer? What characters do you prefer to play as in Street Fighter? This can help inform character choice in other fighters.Exhuminator wrote:What consoles/handhelds do you prefer?flash1987 wrote:And what 2D fighters are really worth playing (any gen)?
