They should have gone ahead and released it and then released a patch later to fix the network mode. I mean, you have to be online to use it anyway, right? The game's been delayed too many times as it is.

I just thought the other day that we were getting close to release and I hadn't gotten any updates for a while. I kind of felt it coming so when I saw the update in my inbox I wasn't surprised that it was another delay.

The online crap is a perfect example of why Kickstarters shouldn't promise the moon with stretch goals. A Mega Man style game does not need an online mode. It's likely to be kind of lousy anyway and most people aren't even going to use it, but since they're crowd funded they don't want to just drop the feature.

Honestly though I don't even care anymore. It'll come out eventually, maybe. I haven't been excited about it in some time and after the demo I've practically lost interest completely. At this point I'm mostly waiting to get my Kickstarter rewards to sell on eBay.

Yeah, I played the game last year at EGX and thought it was 'meh'. So I was kinda feeling the same. I didn't "back" it on Kickstarter anyways, as I was late to the party and so just pre-ordered it.

I backed it on Kickstarter, but I also pre-ordered it for Wii U once it was announced that it was getting a physical release. I'll probably just sell/trade/give away my Kickstarter code here unless there's going to be some nifty Kickstarter exclusive feature with it (I haven't even looked at the Kickstarter since the campaign was still ongoing, so I don't remember).

Yeah, I also pre-ordered it on the Wii U. Gotta support the console.

I think the heights of the blowback is frankly rather ridiculous. It'll be out when it's out. Better to delay and make it right than release something that doesn't work and have even more people screaming for your head.

Seriously, how many people are that upset, and how much of it is just a small but very vocal minority losing their mind? You know, like pretty much everything on the Internet.

I'm getting the PC DVD version from Fangamer and the XBox 360 version. Not sure if I'm going to keep the 360 version and sell the backer exclusive PC disc or keep the DVD and give away the 360 code.

I'm not sure if the Fangamer disc will include the DLC like the console physical releases and the digital backer releases so that will likely be the deciding factor.

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous. I'm more displeased with the quality of what I've been shown so far than the delays which I more or less don't care about.

Reprise wrote:Erm, so this just got delayed AGAIN? Holy shit... They're still citing problems with the network mode. I'm sorry, but fuck the network mode. Who even backed/pre-ordered this for the network mode? The old fans who this game was pitched/aimed at probably don't even care about the multiplayer.

Ah well, these things happen. It's pretty bad though.
I just want to quote this for posterity. I guarantee that Shenmue 3 is going to be delayed multiple times because nearly every video game KS has been delayed one or more times. I suspect that there will be even more losing of shit when it happens to Shenmue 3.

And that's probably closer to my concern. It's why I didn't actually KS the game, although it did cross my mind. It looks okay, but it looks more MMX than MM. Who knows, though, it might be absolutely fantastic.

(By the way, I definitely backed Bloodstained, and I fully expect it to get delayed several times. I'll probably even be concerned if it makes it out "on time".)
