I just remembered when one of my PS2 memcards died, taking a near-the-end save of Onimusha with it. Sadness.

I hate it when that happens. I was using an expansion card, one that you plugged a legit card into and it increased your space. That went belly-up on me. Thankfully, I'd backed up a lot of my saves (yay for having a Codebreaker!), but I still lost lots of progress on several games. Chief among those was Growlanser 3, and I still haven't gotten back to it to this day.

Losing a 20+ hour save deep into Vagrant Story due to a faulty third party memory card, taught me to always use two memory cards simultaneously, and to save to both at the end of a play session.

The hilarious thing is, I used a third-party memory card on PSX, and never had any issues with them. Of course, it was probably because they weren't using compression or any of that business, they were just double-capacity cards you could switch sides on with a button. Just... don't do that with Star Ocean 2, make sure it's on the right side before booting, because it'll crash when it doesn't find the right voice sample portion of the save if you swap out after booting.

For my birthday, my boyfriend gave me copy of Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (which I was really interested in for some reason ha). It did come a little late because of something weird about the apartment number not being on the label even though it was, but when I did finally get it... there was a fairly big hole in the case ._. I really wish I took a picture of it because it was pretty bad.

Something must of jammed into it REALLY hard considering that the hole went through the case. Not sure if it was Amazon not checking their stuff properly (it was supposed to be new) or if something happened in transport (no obvious damage to the package) but still really lame :|

Also I wanted to go through the Yakuza series for some reason but Yakuza 2 is $200 disc only?! When did it (and the first game) get so expensive? Probably better off importing the PS3 remaster and struggling with the Japanese ._.

Check out the independent sellers on Amazon... it seems to go for around $100-150, CiB.

Yeah, not that those prices are really that much better... sega just needs to localized those damn HD remasters already... and NOT for the Wii U.

It's less on eBay, but it still isn't cheap.

Wow that's crazy talk. I sold a like new complete in box Yakuza 2 on eBay for about $40 only two years ago. I thought I was doing good to have gotten $40. The used games market is nuts, I can't keep up with this stuff.

Yakuza 2 is almost worth $200. I mean, at one point you fist fight tigers for starters.

The sad thing is both Yakuza 1-2 were pretty affordable merely ~1-2 months ago. I kept seeing them on my Amazon wishlist whenever I skimmed that. So those massive spikes were very recently. Maybe due to 5's release and some other announcements around the series or something.

I really wish we'd get the HD remasters.

Haunting Ground is another game I wish I could have gotten years ago.

Weird, I swear a few days ago that there were only $200+ copies of Yakuza 2... Still, now I'm a bit annoyed that it went up in price that quickly :| Doesn't help that Sega probably won't be releasing a physical copy of the remaster over here.
