It's $22 on Amazon right now, I'll give that a spin for a spiritual successor SaGa game.

I've been thinking about Legend of Legacy too, just not sure I'd commit to a random RPG, and also does it do those things many Atlus RPGs do where depending where you stand you can get hit from various sides? It looks like it's on a grid, I don't buy those. I like my RPGs vanilla like FF/DQ stuff has been ...front row or back row (for half damage taking/dishing without distance weapon-spells.)

I've still not picked up Hatsune Miku or Senran Kagura, waiting for more price drops. Mega Man Legacy and Mighty No 09 are out next month, and hopefully shortly after Bravely Default (2) End Layer. March has the definitive version of Hyrule Warriors Legends. And I too when they pop up want all those Dragon Quest games as I missed out on the PS1/2 era titles though I know they're bloated huge (100hrs) so I know I won't finish them.

It seems anywhere I look it seems a lot of people hate Zelda Triforce Heroes so I wrote that one off as junk. Seems it's more of a problem if you don't take it online and totally only play with other people which is something I would not do. I actually found Minish Cap over the weekend locally, need to get the 1st party guide for that and take it down as I never finished it a decade ago.

I got Legend of Legacy off amazon three weeks ago for $23 brand new sealed, including shipping. Amazon even sent me the limited edition with the hardcover artbook and music CD. Wasn't expecting that. Amazon 4 lyfe

Legacy has gotten some bum reviews from "reviewers" who were nuthurt over how "unforgiving" and "nonlinear" the game is. Some went so far as to criticize it for focusing on gameplay over story. Clearly this was not designed for the younger generation.

The game's official English trailer for those interested:

@Tanooki - FuRyu developed Legend of Legacy, not Atlus. Atlus only published it in USA. It wasn't even published by Atlus in Japan.

If you're playing a JRPG for the story, you're doing it wrong.

Sega 3D Classics Collection getting a physical release in NA. Doesn't look like all the 3DS eShop ones.

Those are actually two of my very favorite games, and I have beaten both of them several times. I appreciate their respective atmosphere, casts of memorable characters, and incredibly engrossing gameplay. If I take off my nostalgia glasses, however, I realize that the games' plots are pretty basic and that the characters are sketched pretty roughly. (What, exactly, is Umaro's motivation? )

I play JRPGs for their battle systems, exploration, and atmosphere. I've played lots of JRPGs that fit those qualifications just fine. But I can only think of one JRPG I've played through with a truly great plot.

It's also the best JRPG ever made so I might be biased.
