Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
Yep. Colored newspaper also tends to burn rather nastily. I can vouch for that having started so many fires in our fireplace.
And we can do weird.

Re: Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?
You know what else burns easily? Vinyl.
I know that because when I was a kid I was sitting with my back to a campfire wearing a vinyl jacket. It was winter and night time so the fire was good stuff. Apparently I was sitting too close because the back of my jacket caught on fire. Luckily there was a pond nearby so I ran and jumped into it. The fire was instantly out but the water was freezing and I damn near turned into a hypothermic gelding.
So yeah, if you're wearing vinyl (I won't judge you) watch out for fires yo.

Things I learned today:
1) This War of Mine is a poor representation of the Balkan War.
2) Vinyl burns easily.
3) Exhuminator gots style, yo.

Obviously not in that respect. But many were originally social commentaries and somewhat philosophical looks at human nature when faced with such situations. Does the survival instinct kick in, do warlord/gang leader types take power etc....prfsnl_gmr wrote:I am not so sure that authors writing games, movies, novels, etc. have performed a lot of research into these historical scenarios. (Do you remember those news reports from Somalia in the 1990s showing that one guy playing a flame-throwing guitar?) I think they mostly just make things up...Jmustang1968 wrote: I imagine this is where most post-apocalypse stories get inspiration from.
The original Mad Max had a big focus on the breakdown of the system and order. Sure, many are just there for entertainment value only, but I wouldnt say historical research or social evaluation are not being done in some of these works.

Yet we have seen society break down and revert in history with the fall of the Roman Empire.prfsnl_gmr wrote:...and those people will die. Well it makes sense that lone wolf survivalists don't breed and produce lone wolf leaning offspring. I mean, from an evolutionary perspective, yeah... they're not looking for mates. So anyway I will take the wolf angle and try to get this thread back on track...and those people will die. Society (and many of our social conventions) are as much a product of evolution as any of our physical features.

Wolf was actually a pretty cool game. It deserved more attention than it got.

I think even bothering to be aware this game exists is an unpopular opinion.

It very much depends on how prepared they actually are. A lot of the preppers will probably do okay. The criminal vagabonds? Probably not as well, so yeah, they'd probably bite the dust.
And yes, vinyl is quite combustible.
Although for a sec, I thought we were gonna have us a good ol' record burning!

Here's one...More games should feature an "About Wolves" option.Exhuminator wrote:

Never Alone basically has a damn NatGeo documentary built in about the Inuit tribe it's based on. And there's a wolf...spirit...thing. Does that count?prfsnl_gmr wrote:This Racketboy!!
