Re: Playstation Vita thread
By the time Nintendo's next console is released, I'll probably around 60 retail Wii U games on my shelf. I love collecting for it.

I'd say the Wii U also has a wider range in it's library; if you pick a random gamer off the street you can find a Wii U game they'll like, but it's less likely to find a Vita game they'd like.

I agree. The Wii U has a little something for everyone; the Vita had a lot of something for a few people.MrPopo wrote:I'd say the Wii U also has a wider range in it's library; if you pick a random gamer off the street you can find a Wii U game they'll like, but it's less likely to find a Vita game they'd like.

Vita tends to appeal more to a certain type of gamer, sure - but it's doing an incredible job of appealing to that niche audience despite being written off by Sony. I can respect that even if the games don't all appeal to me.MrPopo wrote:I'd say the Wii U also has a wider range in it's library; if you pick a random gamer off the street you can find a Wii U game they'll like, but it's less likely to find a Vita game they'd like.
Looking at the late PSP lifecycle, this probably shouldn't be a surprise though. That system also provided a ton of great late releases that were really targeting a small group of people. Heck, it just a really awesome release with TitS SC.
Anyway, the point remains: both systems are pretty awesome.
Nice. I'll probably top out somewhere around 40 games for Wii U and 20 games for Vita. (Vita number would be considerably higher if PSTV compatibility wasn't super restrictive, or if my budget for gaming was higher.)ElkinFencer10 wrote:By the time Nintendo's next console is released, I'll probably around 60 retail Wii U games on my shelf. Not sure how many games it takes to "justify" a console, but I can't feel bad about these purchases.

Usually one game for me. But I make bad decisions with my money when it comes to video games. Although I do have a Hyperscan with no controller, games, or power cable...lol

Posted this in the PSN deals thread also but it fits here: A Boy and His Blob is $8.50 and it's PS4/Vita cross-buy. Love when the Vita gets these big PSN crossbuy releases, just like Grim Fandango Remastered.

I don't know why, but it kind of bums me out knowing that the Vita probably won't last too much longer :/ It still feels like it just came out recently to me. But then again, my time perception is pretty bad so... ._.
On a different note, has anyone played the full version of Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines? I remember trying the demo out and LOVED it, but I'm not really sure it continues to be good past that or not.

Dude, the Xperia never went away; Sony just dropped physical buttons...like practically all smartphone makers (except Blackberry). Sony still makes Xperia devices - both smartphones and tablets. They're "Playstation Certified," although what that means after the end of the Playstation mobile platform is unclear. Sony sells a mount (GCM10) to attach an Xperia device to a PS4 controller. They even do Vita tricks, like PS4 remote play.Exhuminator wrote:I also sincerely doubt that we will see another Sony dedicated-gaming-handheld. I wasn't aware the Xperia still exists. But that's all the more reason we likely won't see a Vita successor then.samsonlonghair wrote:Dude, the Xperia never went away; Sony sells a mount (GCM10) to attach an Xperia device to a PS4 controller. They even do Vita tricks, like PS4 remote play.

Oh, I certainly agree with you there. Sony is clearly more interested in Xperia than in making another PSP-esque handheld gaming platform.Exhuminator wrote:I wasn't aware the Xperia still exists. I expect that Sony will concentrate on making the Playstation network viable on Xperia mobile devices. Xperia is Sony's mobile platform from here on out.
