Am I the only one here who practically lives in the red by the third week of every month? Damn glorious hobby...

No but February I will def be in the red with 3DS craziness:ElkinFencer10 wrote:Am I the only one here who practically lives in the red by the third week of every month? Damn glorious hobby...
Fire Emblem Fates
Project X Zone 2
Mega Man Legacy Collection
Plus I don't really try to actively sell stuff until summer. Not that I have much to sell anyways. Damn vultures around here pretty much beat me to everything, to the point where I slept in most of last summer and probably didn't lose out on much.

I'm counting on my tax refund to get/keep me out of the red (because I have all of those games pre-ordered; both versions of Fates, actually).Snatch1414 wrote:No but February I will def be in the red with 3DS craziness:ElkinFencer10 wrote:Am I the only one here who practically lives in the red by the third week of every month? Does "in the red" mean actually running negative on finances, or just on a self-imposed gaming budget? If the former, no, and I don't keep a budget... so no on the latter, too.
I also rarely ever sell my games, so if it's just keeping the in-out even, no to that, too.

Yeah, I set up a budget, but then I see games that I want, and I say "Well, oooonnneeeeee more won't hurt...." and then next thing I know, I have $200 on my Amazon card.
I'm not usually bad about that. It's just been the past few months that I've let myself slip.

I am super strict on my gaming budget. PC games come out of credit card rewards, and I only budget a few hundred for the year for console games. Anything I sell goes back into gaming, so it is mostly a game keeping ontop of things.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Yeah, I set up a budget, but then I see games that I want, and I say "Well, oooonnneeeeee more won't hurt...." and then next thing I know, I have $200 on my Amazon card.![]()

Your yearly budget sounds like my monthly budget (which is why I live on ramen and ravioli)....fastbilly1 wrote:I am super strict on my gaming budget. Re: Games Acquired 2016
I think the only reason I don't budget is that I tend to be a cheapskate anyway. I buy new games, sure, but after this holiday, I probably won't buy a ton for a while. I went entire months without buying much of anything last year, and it'll probably be the same this year. Plus, I have this wonderful store called Dirt Cheap that has lots of cheap games float through. That's where I snagged my $10 Splatoon.
(Deals aren't usually that good on new games, but sometimes, things break in your favor.)

Re: Games Acquired 2016
I spend on average about $2500 a year on gaming.
That might sound like a lot, but the rest of my hobbies are super cheap and cost practically nothing.
