It's good stuff, I really enjoyed it when I played through a few years back. It made me sad the rest of the series was never localised.ElkinFencer10 wrote:I just used some saved up rewards credit on my Discover card to order that on Amazon. Looked it up since you mentioned it, and it sounded interesting. Besides, I'm always looking for Wii games to add to my collection. Even if it's the shitty Cabela hunting games (the guys at my local Gamestop love it when I come in and buy like fifteen $0.90 Wii shovelware games).alienjesus wrote:I have Sakura Wars on Wii, so I'm covered.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Everyone should own at least one game with the word "Sakura" in the title.

I'm trying to collect the older games in that series. Most of them are cheap. I got the first one on Saturn for like three bucks.

I have 3 of the Sakura Taisen LE boxes for Dreamcast... they just don't have games in them.
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I never figured out how I ended up with empty boxes of games I never bought, my buddy has some too. Where do they come from? :scratches:noiseredux wrote:I have 3 of the Sakura Taisen LE boxes for Dreamcast... they just don't have games in them.

I was goofing around on Capcom USA's site and noticed in the store that there are a ton of Mega Man soundtracks and they're only $8.95 each. Don't know what shipping is but I might grab at least a couple.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Been having some resolution issues with certain PC games. Fiddled with settings for about two hours last night, and eventually said "eff this" and simply grabbed a 15-year-old monitor from the garage (not that my previous one was a spring chicken).
Things look okay now but damn the screen itself is small. And there are Hello Kitty stickers all over the thing. Maybe I'll break down and buy an HD monitor (finally).

what were you using, a 4:3 and trying to run modern games?
If you want a second-hand LCD monitor, let me know. I've got a spare I could probably part with.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
we don't seem to have a "How's your Game Gear gaming going?" thread so I'll just leave these thoughts here...
Looking through old magazines lately, I've thought a lot about my old Game Gear. I loved that thing back in the day. I spent hours every weekend playing Sonic 2, Shinobi, Mortal Kombat II or NBA Jam in front of the TV. These games feel like they go hand-in-hand with episodes of Tales From The Crypt for me.
And in recent years I've read about a lot of interesting games I didn't know about back then. Mostly ports that I'm amazed even exist like Panzer Dragoon or Virtua Fighter. Stuff like that. I mean...
But, but, but anytime I think about Game Gear I also think about the inevitable "issues." So my curiosity is this: have there been developments to address these over the years? Do we have mods or solutions? NAMELY I'm talking about addressing the dreaded 6xAA battery burn-out. Back in the days of Tales From The Crypt my GG was forever tethered to an electrical outlet. Is that pretty much still the case now?
What about the Mejesco GG system? Did that improve anything?
What of these LCD screen mods? Did they help?
