Well, I definitely won't have any money by then, buuuut I have an Amazon credit card tied to my account, so I assume that it will let me pay for Prime that way, yes? That discounted price is too good to pass up.

I've been a Prime member for many years, and have never regretted it. I get my games within 2 days of ordering them, discount prices, brand new and STILL SEALED, and they come right to my mailbox. The $99 pays for itself in free shipping, versus considering how much gas I'd have to burn if I was driving around actually physically buying these games.

I still use eBay from time to time for buying really rare or old stuff that I can't find on Amazon. I think eBay is better for buying used games, as long as you are careful about paying attention to the auction details and seller ratings.

The last game I bought out of a brick'n'mortar reminded me why the fuck I don't do that anymore. I was at Walmart last Christmas picking up some items for my in-laws. I saw Portal 2 brand new for $20 and said, yeah I'll bite. So I pick up the game and it's got this donkey ass plastic housing wrapped around it for security purposes I guess. So I get up to the register and buy the game, and then the cashier tells me I have to go to customer service to have the game's chastity belt taken off. Well that was annoying enough, but then I had to stand in a long derp derp line at customer service for nearly twenty minutes before I finally could get customer service to remove the plastic housing crap. I get back home later and see that for $15 I could have bought the game new from Amazon without ever having stepped foot in the cesspit that is Walmart.

I'm online shopping for now on, period.

Huh, that sounds terrible. Well, I have gotten pretty lucky in Walmart for deals on Black Friday. My last pickup was Dragon Age: Inquisition: GOTY for really cheap. But I almost never shop for games in Walmart anymore, because their prices are terrible. For all the hate GameStop gets, they do a much better job keeping things at least somewhere close to reasonable.

I find the Amazon Prime thing interesting. It's not quite as good a deal as the Best Buy one (GCU gets you 20% off all new games, period), but it's pretty sweet, and clearly a shot across their bow. I just got GCU because with the orders I put in, it would effectively be free if I got it. I figure I'll be using them to buy all my new releases. I'm ordering Trails of Cold Steel as soon as I get my $50 gift card in. :D

I was tempted to go with Best Buy, but between the cash back I get from using my Amazon card on Amazon.com, the free 2 day shipping on anything that qualifies for Prime, and the Amazon Prime video, I decided that it was the overall better choice. I also don't often buy new games that long after release; unless it's a developer that I really want to support, I'll usually try to get it used if it's been a while after release.

Well man I just checked Trails of Cold Steel on Best Buy's website:

So good luck with that!

It's still in stock on Amazon though. ;p

Yeah, my brother has Prime and a Amazon card, he gets a ton of cash back. It also helps that he orders using his card for people at work, so he gets a lot of credit. He bought a new TV with Amazon credit...

They've still got the Lionheart Edition, though, and both PS3 versions. I'm probably going PS3 on this one, actually, although the Vita is worth contemplating for portability/couch play.

Vita was the target development platform, so I think the game will shine brightest on it. But you can always give that ol' stalwart PS3 one last swan song.

Another great thing about Prime is the video and music streaming. The video streaming has some solid stuff although a lot of it is the same as netflix and while some of the Amazon produced shows are good most of them weren't really my cup of tea. The music streaming is pretty nice though I use it on occasion while I'm browsing.

PS3 is the way to go according to what I heard. Apparently the really fudged on the Vita version and the font is so small that it's hardly legible there were also some other issues as well but I can't remember at the moment. Biggest problem is Falcom hasn't released the game that bridges TitS SC to ToCS so the story is kind of confusing.

Preordered the PS3 Lion Heart Edition back in December through Best Buy for $40 shipped so it's collecting dust on a shelf now :P .

I've played it on Vita myself when I first got it, and the font is perfectly legible. People are crazy. I haven't heard of any other "issues" either. Sounds like people trying to convince themselves they don't need a Vita more than anything else.
