I agree, some of those stretch goals are VERY lackluster for the price tag. I can understand doing the $2 or $5 a month if your a fan, but just the initial $5,000 per month overall goal already gets him $60,000 a year. That should be enough for full time. Unless there's a whole ton of other shit I don't know about like costs of divorce or something, but still. That's way more than I'll be making after I finish college.

You clearly have never done video production. The recording of the on air footage is only the beginning. Typically it's 1 hour of editing work for every minute of footage... and that doesn't include capturing gameplay, creating thumbnails, promotion, marketing, etc. It's a full time job for me... and then some.

That's why I got bored of making videos fast. That and I sucked at editing and was way too impatient to learn how not to suck. So now I just spend my life watching OutsideXbox, Classic Game Room, and, of course, the amazing MetalJesus.

Or you could just record your face greenscreened over a shitty game and yell a lot. I hear that's what all the cool kids like these days.

I feel like that's approximately 48.63% of new YouTube videos.

Difference is, I like your videos. CGR just never grabbed me.

I personally have always liked CGR and have been watching since probably 2008 when V2 of the show started. I'm actually considering backing him on Patreon because I'd like to see him be able to continue and I don't mind helping someone who's given me 100's of hours of entertainment.

However I will agree that some of the stretch goals are kinda crazy. He shouldn't even have a $100,000/mo level. Also I feel like if the Patreon supporters got to say the full time level at $10,000/mo that his videos moving forward should all be ad free, not just for 2 months. That's a fair income for the work put in and the viewers should be rewarded.
