Silent Hill 2 & 4- Notable how great 2 is on Xbox, I believe later on the PS2 GH version is this version?
Curse of Darkness sounds hit or miss, but to be expected with 3D Castlevania. There are things I liked about Lament and the music is steller... but it's like a much too literal translation of the Metroidvania/SoTN blueprint in 3D. By this, I mean the endless onsalught of copy pasted hallways and same rooms gets very boring haha. I couldn't finish it. But I won't say I hated it.

Curse of Darkness sounds a lot different, I want to check it out for kicks. From what I'm seeing on Amazon, the Xbox version is a good bit cheaper than the PS2 one.

Can anyone confirm on Silent Hill 2 Greatest Hits edition being different than the original release on the PS2? I may have to triple dip for the Xbox version and GH version on the PS2 if that's the case. Feeling that Capcom fever where I need to own all versions of some Silent Hill games.

I still think the PS2 is the 6th gen King, but I think my theory is that I'll work on that list I made up there and favor the Xbox for a lot of ports to make keeping it out worthwhile, because I'm sure I'll continue to discover awesome PS2 exclusive stuff forever like I still am with the PSX as well haha.

From what I've read, the PS2 version of Silent Hill 2 GH is the same as the Xbox version, with added content and such.

Indeed the PS2 Greatest Hits version of Silent Hill 2 contains the extras from the Xbox version.

Rule of thumb is, if it was a cross platform release, you want the Xbox version. Usually better framerates and textures versus PS2 and GameCube versions. There are exceptions to this, but those are exceptions not the norm.

A few other Xbox exclusives to consider...

Azurik: Rise of Perathia (if you enjoy Jeremy Soule music)
Blinx 1 & 2 (if you like platformers)
Chase: Hollywood Stunt Driver (if you like racing games)
Crimson Sea (if you like musou)
Dead or Alive 3 (if you like T&A fighters)
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball (if you're a pervert)
Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes (if you like action-RTS)
Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders (see above)
Maximum Chase (if you like shootan and drivan)
N.U.D.E.@ Natural Ultimate Digital Experiment (if you want Seaman as an anime girl)
Quantum Redshift (if you enjoy futuristic racing)
Silent Scope Complete (if you enjoyed the arcade games)
ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth (if you are on drugs)

Check 'em out on GiantBomb or something if they sound interesting. I'm too lazy tonight for links and pictures and such.

I always loved Dead or Alive Volleyball and never considered myself a perv but that's because I came across such material at a very young age. I happen to value the package for its great sim aspects, chill soundtracks, casual gameplay. It's not for everyone but it's a perfect game for relaxing, the over the top sexual aspects can either add or detract from the experience depending on your views of how the eye candy is presented.

I really enjoy the social aspects with the gift giving, volleyball is really good too. I forget which version is better between the Xbox & 369. :)

Hear, hear! If we can't enjoy our socially questionable fetishes in video games, then where can we enjoy them?

Guys that knows what's up. Titties. I'm living that single man cave life style so I don't need anymore particular material or anything, but I do want DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball for the novelty.

Was never a huge DOA fan in general though, but the Xbox game was the one I had the most fun with back in the day by far. So I'd definitely like to pickup that Ultimate version sometime.

I've got Dead or Alive Ultimate and it's pretty damn great. You get the first two games with improved graphics and lots of extra content. Dead or Alive 3 is a fantastic Xbox exclusive fighter. If you buy it make it this version:

IIRC it includes the the extra costumes, a time attack mode and a new CG introduction that original North American release didn't have. Even if I'm wrong and it doesn't, you're still getting much better cover art than the original.

Wait, I guess this is a completely different game?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_or_Alive_Ultimate

"It is a collection of the two previous games in the series Dead or Alive and Dead or Alive 2. It marks the only game in the series to date to be a compilation. It introduced new features, online play, and various unlockables."

And basically what you said there yourself, I was assuming this Ultimate collection was the final release of 3 haha. Had no idea what the differences were.

Yes, Dead or Alive Ultimate includes Dead or Alive 1 & 2 with improved graphics and new content. Dead or Alive 3 is not included in that package.
