The more you send in, the less it is per disc.



In my case, 4 discs were $2.85 each plus shipping, about $2. They send them back for free. Sports Jam and 4 Wheel Thunder wouldn't boot at all, the D2 disc stopped working about halfway in, and Spawn had audio cutting out issues. All of them are restored to perfect shape with no resurfacing rings. You couldn't even tell the difference between these and brand new discs. They do all game, movie, and music discs too.

Speaking of Spawn, I had no idea it got so expensive lately. I bought that in 2001 for $10.

I sold my entire dreamcast collection with exception of Skies of Arcadia, Bangai O and SF Alpha 3..I thought I would miss the games I sold but honestly they weren't any I would play again (shenmue, sonic adventure 2, etc.) But I will certainly get some gems if I can find them..

I've been keeping my eyes open for a replacement disc, but it's doing ~$25 for disc only which is not much cheaper than a new CIB copy. Maybe I should cough up the fiver to see if they can fix it.

Though my concern is this: the disc isn't scratched. It looks absolutely brand new, so I'm not sure they will do anything?

If it doesn't boot I'd give it a shot, or before you send it in, send them a message on eBay. They communicate with you throughout the process too (when they receive the discs and when they finish and send them back to you). $5 is way better than $25. If it doesn't boot it could be something you don't even see.

How is your Dreamcast gaming going[...]? Both well, and not so well.

The good:
I picked up a DC-Tsunaident123, for connecting Saturn and Playstation peripherals to the Dreamcast. More specifically I got it to play 2D games with the Saturn pad, and had heard it doesn't always map the C and Z buttons properly, but out of all of the 6-button Capcom fighters, only Third Strike had problems with it. No problems with Double Impact, and even GGX properly recognized the C and Z buttons, though. Don't know why it had to be Third Strike that's weird about it.

The bad:
Suddenly, my JP Dreamcast won't boot up the third disc of Shenmue III. Disc one boots fine. It's doing basically what my first Dreamcast did when it died after years of chugging through PSO and Shenmue /II, but so far--knock on wood--just with one disc. Curious.

Also, the DC-Tsunaident123 is supposed to be compatible with the Saturn racing controller, and twin sticks, but it doesn't seem to recognize my racing controller, and I can't get VO to recognize the twin sticks as anything more than a standard controller. Probably a long shot, but the controller converter in question looks like this; Does anyone happen to know of a place where the instruction manual might be hiding (in the interwebs). I found a turn of the century BBS post of someone having the same problem with the twin sticks, but he was quickly shooed away by someone proclaiming that off-brand items were not to be discussed there.

I have a US (?) version of that very adapter. I've not tried specialty controllers with it, though I believe my US "manual" (really just a sheet of paper) had specified that specialty controllers wouldn't work with it, and there is a separate switch for using an analog PS1 controller with it.

Marurun, you're a magic man! I could kiss you. Thank you! I thought that switch was for the DC input to enable rumble. Switching it off of the digital Playstation controller allowed for the Saturn racing wheel and twin sticks to be recognized perfectly. (By the way, does your converter box have a name?)

Speaking of "magic," I decided to wave a magic cotton-swab-wand over the laser lens of my DC; sprinkling it with magic fairy isopropyl-alcohol-dust. Crisis averted? I don't know if that was directly responsible, but disc 3 of Shenmue is back to playing normally. So, my DC gaming is damn near perfect right now.

Well, clearly I remembered part of the manual incorrectly : )

No smooches, please, but I'm always happy to actually have something helpful to say. It is a cool little adapter. I got it so I could use a keyboard with my DC along with the DC mouse for some FPS action, and then I never actually used it for that.
