Yeah, it kinda sucks. I use an official memory cartridge for my normal saves, but imports I have to save to the internal memory and then back up to the AR cart.

Still, it's better than nothing.

Because I live in PAL land, I want to get a fully modded Saturn eventually, with a 50/60hz switch, so I don't have to worry about the memory issue and can enjoy games in 60hz (whilst most games work fine in 50hz, Grandia for example has terrible sound issues in cutscenes when forced into 50hz).

Some guy the other day was trying to sell me a saturn on facebook, no controllers, no cables and an NHL game for... $150. He was offended when I told him no.

Yea, it's getting pretty ridiculous out there.

I get better deals at my local game store than personal local deals and even eBay.

Ok so i was going to make a thread on this but id figure i can just ask on this thread since it ha s a lot to deal with the saturn and its ports.
Now once i get my everdrives for the snes and genesis after my taxes come in, I need to get the action replay 4in1 cart and that's a must. Second I need to get the sega saturn 3 pak along with that nice sega saturn controller that sega came out with that resembles the japan sega saturn controller.
Now here is where I'm stuck. In my possession, I own most of the 2d fighters and the 2d shmups for the ps1. I also own a large number of the ps2 2d fighters and shmups. Now since I know that the saturn is a 2d powerhouse is there any reason to get these titles also for the saturn. Like is there any difference between ports for these games. Now I am on a very tight budget like all of us so i am looking for disc only. I would just figured i would ask instead of blowing my money for no reason. like right now that i can think of i own these titles that i have for either ps1 or ps2 that are also ported to the saturn
Street fighter anthology ps2, and i own all 3 for psone.
king of fighters orchi collection ps2
street fighter collection ps1
mega man 8 ps1
mega man x4 ps1
mk trilogy ps1
mk2 (have mk2 for the snes)
In the hunt
Marvel super heroes
x men cota
xmen vs street fighter
marvel vs street fighter
elevator action returns (Taito legends 2)
I cant think of anymore. Unless the games are night and day I wont even bother.

I do know that i need to get the xmen vs street fighter and the marvel vs street fighter but other than those and differences that what i already own?

mas, if you're on a strict budget I can't see any sense in getting rid of games you have and replacing them with Saturn versions. I can't speak on loose disc prices, but complete it seems like most of these games are most expensive in their Saturn incarnation. Unless you were actively collecting for the Saturn exclusively, I think you should just keep the games you have.

I use Action Replay solely to boot imports. I've never messed around with the saving options. I save directly to the Saturn, and did have to replace the battery for the first time last year (I lost some Ys saves :? ).

Careful, mas. You're falling into old habits. I don't recommend collecting expensive Sega Saturn games. Just concentrate on Sega Genesis for your Sega collection. That's a far more affordable option.
