Games that will be rare in the future
Re: Games that will be rare in the future
Yeah Tetris DS fetches ~£30 second hand already and Professor layton fetches £35 although I dont think that price will stick, its only because new copies are out of stock here.
Other games might be the cubes version of TP since it was hard to find on release and RPG fans tend to like to collect stuff. I also think Soul Bubbles might gather a cult following and the poor sales will only fuel the price

I know Devil Summoner 2 will be rare as Atlus already said they will only release a very limited run of this game. I have mine on preorder already. Also the Yakuza series will no doubt be rare in the near future. I have both, yeah for me. Yakuza is a great game that almost nobody knows about. This is the time to pick up the PS2 titles as they will be gone from stores before you know it.

Perfect Dark Zero is very, VERY common were I live. I seriously doubt it will ever get rare (pun not intended). I think psychonauts and the gamecube version of LOZ:TP will become expensive, and the gamecube version of MGS1 might stay pricey for good.

Re: Games that will be rare in the future

Re: Games that will be rare in the future
Pretty much anything that comes out in a collectors edition on the PS2 will be worth some cash, and I'm probably going to pick up a factory sealed copy of Valkyria Chronicles at some point. Atlus and NIS are pretty much a sure thing.
I'd be willing to bet that any Sega game that doesn't get advertised will be worth some cash. So, Valkryia Chronicles and Yazuka series will definitely be worth some money, and probably the same for the new Phantasy Star games coming to the PSP and DS if they continue to have no advertisements. If Yakuza 3 does come to America - and ends up being the killer ap for it - then Yakuza 1 and 2 will practically become winning lotto tickets. The same happened for Suikoden I and II when Suikoden III made such a big splash on the PS2, just as Persona 1, 2:EP and SMT: Nocturne increased in value after Persona 3 put Atlus on the map.

I just got Robot Alchemic Drive for $10.00 and its beyond awesome. Today is the first time I ever saw this game in a GameStop or any game store for that matter. Controlling a 4 story high robot with Fight Night like controls from a spectators view is very different. This game has to be rare already and can only increase in value due its quirkyness. If you ever see it, do yourself a favor and pick it up. You won't regret it one bit.
Re: Games that will be rare in the future
Possibly all the DLC games. Those will possibly disappear with the system online service. I'm not sure about physical games, but serious, I predict that systems with DLC stuff will go up in the future.
