I have Mario Party 10. Played it once and quickly returned to Mario Party 2, never playing Mario Party 10 ever again...

The mini games were ok, but not a patch on the N64 ones and I hate that everyone moves together on a train. Stupidest design choice ever.

Ugh, the "everyone moves together" thing kinda turned me off #9. Sucks that it's back.

Yep, it is the single, stupidest, most ridiculous change in design to ever happen to any games series ever. Even stupider than when Sega thought Sonic fans wanted to play as characters who weren't Sonic.. and couldn't run fast...

One of the most exciting parts of the Mario Party games was everyone making their own paths around the board, racing each other to the next star etc.

I think the train mechanic is a good idea as an option because it does change the feel of the game, and I'm not sure it's fair to say that it's a "bad" thing, but it definitely should have been an option, not the core gameplay mechanic.

I totally understand the train mechanic decision personally. Mario Party's mechanics were stale, and most people's least favourite thing was just how long it took to do the board game segments between playing the mini games. They've taken a leaf from the speedy board sections of Wii Party and attempted to make it quicker to get back to playing the mini-games.

Frankly, I think the issues with the series go further than that, but I don't mind them attempting to fix some things.

They definitely do. The lack of chainsaws, lasers, and flamethrowers is a much bigger issue than board pacing.

Jokes aside, I think a grimdark and gory Mario Party clone would be pretty cool.

There are a ton of Mario Party mini games involving laser beams, flames, electricity and more though.

Not so many chainsaws, admittedly.

I remember people talking about Bayonetta 2 being hard to find in the US for a decent price.

It's getting a standalone re-release over there in February: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/0 ... h_february

Only downside is no Bayonetta 1 included, but it's better than nothing, right?
