Warrior Within came out in 2004, God of War came out in 2005, so that scenario isn't exactly plausible. Whoever told you that didn't know what they were talking about. The problem with Warrior Within, is that it went all grimdark and not everyone appreciated that change.

I finished Sands of Time and enjoyed it, but I never did finish Warrior Within. I didn't mind the grimdark change, and I thought the combat system was far better in Warrior Within than it was in Sands of Time. However, the thing I couldn't stand was being chased by the Dahaka demon. There are obstacle stages where you are chased for long distances by this Dahaka thing, and if you screw up at all, you are insta-killed, and you have to start the whole damn chase sequence over again. I quickly ran out of patience for that and gave up on it. However, I'm planning on revisiting Warrior Within via the PS3 HD port, and also hitting up Two Thrones as well. Maybe even this year.

I say give Warrior Within a shot, some folks liked it better than Sands of Time even.

Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams Director's Cut (Wii U)
Syberia Collection (PS3)
Teslagrad (PS3)

A week ago, I didn't even know that Syberia and Teslagrad had physical releases, and I think Giana Sisters will be hard to find in the coming years. Accordingly, I am glad to add these to my collection. (Now, if I can just get Steins Gate for the PS3, I think I will have all of the rare games I want for that system.)
I picked up Giana Sisters over Thanksgiving. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Toys R Us exclusive? When I looked back in November, I wasn't able to find any mention of it anywhere other than their website and in their stores, but that may have been a coincidence with other retailers' just not having it listed online yet.

Here's the truth, God of War completely ripped off Rygar 2002.

[insert smug smiley]

(seriously though I've been meaning to pickup Rygar again someday, I dug it back then).

Such a shame God of War became the blueprint for the hack n' slash action types. Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) kind of... SLAUGHTER it just a little. Even Onimusha had far better combat and intricate combos.

I don't hate God of War, but definitely didn't care after the first two.

The Dahaka isn't to bad since those chase scenes are relatively short and the check points aren't to bad. Wait till you play two thrones though there are mandatory pretty much time trial sections where you bleed health till you finish them and there is actually some stealth game play mixed in  .

As far as my play through statistics go

Sands of Time: 8+
Warrior Within: 4-5
Two Thrones: 1
Prince of Persia 2008: 1 maybe 2 times (Don't think I had to replay the whole game to check out the alternate ending, but I can't remember. I do remember that both endings really sucked though.)

I don't think so. I got my copy from Amazon, and Wal-Mart also has it for sale. GameStop does not have a SKU for it, however.

Oh, I am totally going to give it a fair shake. I listen and understand people's opinion, but it won't sway my own judgement. I want to play Warrior Within and it doesn't matter what others say, so I'm going to play it anyway.

I thought the combat was a bit lacking in some spots in Sands of Time, so if they improved that in Warrior Within, then I am all for it. I don't mind the dark and grim veneer of it all as I think that could be an interesting mechanic. I want to play the entire trilogy, so I need to play Warrior Within next. I'm looking forward to it as I think it will be interesting.

I like listening to everybody's opinion about the game and I'll be very curious if mine is the same when I play it.

I guess I just bought it before Walmart and Amazon had it listed, then, because neither of their sites had any mention of it that I could find when I bought my copy.

Honestly, I was undecided whether or not to go to the more local flea market today that only sets up on Sundays, but seeing as I always find something and for a good bundle deal price, I wasn't disappointed today.

While I was out, I also bought those 3 cans of Surge that were used to prop the games up
