Not 100% sure. It's either the 1000 or the 2000, but I *think* it's the 1000.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I think in practice the PSP is my favorite handheld of all time. I don't know what kind of games you like but to throw some names of my favorites out for you with especially good titles in bold:
Echocrome
Everyday Shooter
Jean D'Arc
Killzone Liberation
Loco Roco
Lumines
Mercury Meltdown
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Metal Gear AC!D 2
Patapon (this is some seriously good stuff right here)
Persona 3 Portable
SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2
Wipeout Pulse
Also, the PSN Store on PSP will be closing very soon. March I believe? In any case, you'll still be able to buy PSP games using your PS3, PSV, or the online store. It's also worth mentioning that most digital PSP games can be played on the Vita so if you ever plan on picking one of those up it might be worth getting a few games on digital. In fact, the Vita is the best way to play some of those PSP games since you can map buttons to the second analog stick and avoid using "the claw" for games like Monster Hunter.
Nvm. I see that you have a Vita so you probably knew all this.![]()
Out of curiosity, which PSP model are you getting? They're all fine but the original's screen and battery life are pretty poor, although I think it's the most comfortable one by far.

Re: PSP Recommendations
my hidden gem is Pangya Fantasy Golf. It's cutesy anime arcade style golf and is super addictive.
A lot of my other suggestions have already been mentioned.

Re: PSP Recommendations
I also got the PSP a few years back to play Valkyria Chronicles II on it. Some other games I have in my library that weren't mentioned yet are:
The 3rd Birthday (cool game that is a "sequel" to Parasite Eve)
Brave Story new traveler (Cool RPG)
Blade Dancer (RPG? haven't played it yet)
Crush (fun puzzle game, also released on 3DS)
Dead Head Fred (B-Movie-esque adventure game)
Daxter (side game from Jak and Daxter series)
Every Extend Extra (rhythm game)
Secret Agent Clank (side game for Ratchet and Clank)
Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake (portable fat princess, it's great)
All of these except Crush are exclusive to PSP, as far as I know. There were also some games that were out on PSP that were also released on PS2. Jak and Daxter Final Frontier, and I think Ys VI, are the only two I can think of, so if you rather have those on a console you can try and find them that way.
PSP is a great console with some solid exclusives. I think the two main ones would be Valkyria II and Castlevania Chronicles. Those are some of the best, but the Metal Gear games are really good and also most of the RPGs.

Re: PSP Recommendations
I second Prinny 1 and 2! Great little action games. Pretty dang hard, but once you get the hang of controlling your momentum with your slashes (and butt stomps in the 2nd game), the tough bosses and good levels are so addicting. I highly recommend playing the first game first, mostly because the added butt-stomp in the 2nd game likely affects how you'll play SO much, that the first game will seem impossible without it (at least it did for me).
I identify everyone via avatar, so if you change your avatar, I genuinely might completely forget who you are. -- Me

If you get into imports check out the PAL version of Breath of Fire III. There are also some cool Hudson shmup compilations, one of which contains Sapphire.ElkinFencer10 wrote:That game looks AMAZING. The PSP is region free, yes?
Re: PSP Recommendations

Re: PSP Recommendations
Haven't found a copy of Valkyria Chronicles yet, but I picked up the Killzone and Resistance games at one of the used book/game stores in Raleigh. I know most people say those two are meh games, but I'm a huge fan of both series, so I had to have them. =D
