Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I don't know why, but I've got a feeling that the recently-released Retro Game Challenge for DS will increase in value in the future.

i would say most stuff atuls puts out, but a lot of the xbox titles havent been very good, the ds stuff on the other hand, has been top notch, so i thin some of those might be worth something given a few years

The first Castlevania (Dawn of Sorrow) for DS was short-printed, but was re-released, so that one is off the list, and the same could be said of Phoenix Wright. Those were the only 2 recent titles that I heard of some shortages.....

The PSP has dozens of really good games that are itching to skyrocket in value. A large and growing group of PSP owners don't purchase UMD games. They have custom firmware installed and download nearly everything they play. This means that a lot of really good PSP games sit on the shelf. Eventually collectors will take notice. One day, when the PSP is long dead and a forgotten system, these gems will fetch a hefty price from said collectors and those experiencing a 2nd childhood. More and more Dreamcast games are experiencing this same phenomenon. DC owners burned games over buying them toward the end of the system's life. A lot of those games that were going for $5 in the bargain bins are now netting $40+ on eBay and Craig's.

I snicker when I think about it. The 20 year old who brags about the 100 PSP games on their hard drive is probably going to be the 30 year old willing to pay big money for most of the same games later on. If you want to make some future cash pick up a few cheapo copies of Tekken: DR, Ace Combat X, Crisis Core, Disgaea, Wipeout Pure/Pulse, etc - even if you don't own a PSP. They will be worth something some day.

I just can't see PSP games being worth much or even DS ones really. Its always been my view that portables don't seem to have that same desirability as console games, so even if its rare the price won't shoot up because people won't be paying for it. There are rare game boy and game boy color games, and having those games complete makes a HUGE difference because the boxes are damn near impossible to come by, but everything this generation is in nice cases. There are some exceptions like Electroplankton (never in stores) and the games from Club Nintendo, but eh I dunno. If I see certain games chaep I'd pick em up, but I dunno the prices of portables can't even begin to compare to the prices that so many PSX games fetch.

On that note, what are good games for the PSP. The only ones I've bought for mine are Lumines, Lumines II, and Every Extend Extra. I don't even really play ISOs or anything since I haven't seen anything I was even interested in pirating. Any standout original platformers? I know of Loco Roco, but anything else? Suggestions (not just for platformers)?

I know Tetris DS was hard to find for awhile, I don't know if that's changed. Ketsui DL is already going up in price quite a bit also. I could see the DS paddle controller getting pricey also
