I noticed that we like to always reference and point out interesting video game articles and editorials in their own thread or in the Random Gaming Thoughts thread, but I thought this might be a great place to share interesting articles that bring up great video game points and discuss them.
I am starting this bad boy off with this fascinating article entitled, How Players Revived Star Wars Galaxies And EverQuest
Which talks about the fan-driven desire to preserve classic, long dead MMOs and features. I have recently been playing a lot of Project 1999, the fan-server for the original Everquest, which keeps the original gameplay found in the first two expansions of the game before everything changed. I loved classic Everquest. Even though the rough around the edges visuals and sluggish gameplay is still evident, there is a level of detail and charm in the world that really makes it something special.
What about you folks that played Star Wars Galaxies? Anyone play the fan servers or have any stories to share?

Sometimes I wonder if this forum format is outdated. At least it's a better format than that cesspool soup known as reddit.
