Preorders open up at 11am EST. They aren't revealing the price yet though which is kind of annoying. Speculation is it's probably bumped up to around $400-500 now that they have bundled them with Xbox One controllers, but that's guesstimates.

Anyone thinking about picking one up. I'm kind of on the fence about it, but if through some miracle the price point is closer to around $350ish I might be tempted to sign up for one otherwise I'm probably going to wait till they get released.

It has it's own controller but also comes with an Xbox One controller? Okay...

I can't imagine paying $400 for a console and then an additional $400(?) for one of these.

Anyways the big thing drawing me to this is the potential for virtual displays. Microsoft is already working on an auditorium style app for Windows 10 that you can stream your Xbox One into according to the last game informer article. I think it would be a pretty cool experience to watch movies or play an emulator that way if the display is as good as they say it is. Pairing that with some quality headphones could make for an awesome experience. However you would essentially be cutting off your awareness of the outside world which is the tricky bit they are trying to work around at the moment. As long as you have a little space and a controller you shouldn't be bumping into things but it makes you a prime target for pranks .

Ive been on the fence about a rift for a while. Every time I have used one (past the first and the time I was wearing glasses) it has been incredible, but the content was just not there. Then my phone died and I got a new one that had Google Cardboard preinstalled.

I will not be a first adopter, but I will get one as soon as I can.

Yep, no surprise there. Didn't stop my immense disappointment as the white screen's mocking me.

Yeah I "Stepped into the Rift" and was greeted with a vast white nothingness.



Gonna browse around and see if anyone got a snap of the price that's all I'm interested in at the moment and will determine if i spam refresh and help keep the site down for the next hour .

Never mind it's back up and fudge that $599.00 is nowhere near what they were originally talking about or what the dev kits cost.
