Can someone explain to me what the various symbols in the hexes on the map (gamepad) mean?

I recognize the symbol that indicates that a probe has been placed, but there are other symbols all over the place and I don't have a clue what they are.

Also, there are lots of colors on the map now - what do they mean?

The awkward head thing is a tyrant. The shiny star things are treasures (mechanical, archeological, or biological). The paper is a quest. Thegold shield means you've done everything in that segment. If the probe icon is bright, you've planted the probe; if it's greyed out, it means that you haven't installed a probe yet.

I haven't figured the colors out yet.

The colors represent the overall difficulty of the enemies in the hex, using the same scale as the colors on their nametag when you battle focus on them (opposite ROYGBIV).

Nobody answered me previously and I actually had to dig around Google to find answers, but apparently this game is NOT dual audio. Incredibly disappointing. I thought this was becoming a standard as of late, but it seems like it continues to be a completely random gamble if we'll get dual audio or not.

I got this for my birthday, can't wait to start it. The time investment is pretty intimidating though!

I think I'm almost done with the story. Into the 11th chapter. I'm curious about the end game content and whether or not it will hold my attention. How's everyone else doing?

I'm level 26, just finished chapter 6 and am working to get my skell license. I am curious about the multiplayer as well, but I really want to finish the story first.

Working on Chapter 5 - trying to take out the anti-aircraft turrets. Does the lightning storm in Oblivia cause you to lose HP?

It does. There's some environmental hazards that do inflict HP loss. Have to be careful.

I beat the story last night, I thought it was pretty enjoyable overall. I definitely see some replayability in the future continuing on exploring the world.

I want to get my character to level 60 eventually (I was 55 when I beat the story last month, I think), and I want to plant every probe (there were 4 or 5 I never bothered hunting for). Maybe get my exploration for Mira to 100%, too.
