Re: XBLA Purchase
Both are great, and you won't regret your purchase either way. I have to say though, Rez HD is a sight to behold. But Ikaruga sets a awesome challenge. I guess its like choosing between a juicy steak or mouth watering ribs. They both satisfy, but in different ways.

Rez kicks Ikaruga's ass. Seriously.

I'd get ikaruga.
Re: XBLA Purchase
Both are classics but Ikaruga is much more difficult, IMO. I am no pro of either genre, but am able to get pretty far in Rez.
-The thing with both releases is that if you have a dreamcast with a VGA cable, you should just burn em
I personally have gained much enjoyment from many of the cheaper original titles. My favs are Assault Heroes 1&2, Small Arms, Aegis Wing (the free one!!), and the Prince of Persia remake.
I REALLY REALLY want Sstreet Fighter 2 HD but dont have 20 bucks right now. SOON!
360 is a great system, I just need to get either a stick or one of them 6 button sf pads

Dont get SF2 HD its really not worth it. Yeah the GFX are in HD but they didnt do anything else to it...not even add frames of animation. So you have choppy HD looking characters...come on! There is alot of complaint about it.nateup2 wrote:Both are classics but Ikaruga is much more difficult, IMO. I am no pro of either genre, but am able to get pretty far in Rez.

Im more happy with the original SF2 on Xbox live...plus it seems to have more ppl to play against online.
BTW "The Maw" is prett fun for 800 points. Me and my GF had a blast with it. And on the community side check out "Weapon of choice" its like a Contra on a Acid trip on Adult swim...

Re: XBLA Purchase
Hmmm. Are you aware of how SF2 actually works? Adding frames of animation would break the game. One of the best things about that remake is that they resisted the temptation to change the gameplay just for the sake of pretty HD-ness. The game feels, plays and controls exactly the same as it did 14 years ago, which is a very good thing indeed. And they did add a whole new re-balanced mode based on the input of expert tourney players. If you're a SF2 fan this game is entirely worth it IMO.nonner242 wrote:Yeah the GFX are in HD but they didnt do anything else to it...not even add frames of animation. Re: XBLA Purchase
Im a fan... and its not worth the $$$ to me at all. I have the first xbox release and luv it.... I Beta tested the version HD too. Its just a HD rehash to suck up cash to me. And from my past experience in making games...(Yes Im a Animation/Art guy!) mostly 2D, you can add frames of animation into almost any game and not ruin it. May it be a fighter, shooter of whatever. Thats like saying Fatal Fury that had 3-4 animation moves per hit change any from the same move in Fatal Fury 3 that had 5-8. Its in the FPS.RadarScope1 wrote:Hmmm. Sorta think of it this way...they are both making contact on say frame 9.
Fatal Fury .......F1Move F2Same F3Move F4Same F5Move F6Same F7Same F8Move F9Same HIT!!!..So a total of 9 frames but only 4 movement to the HIT!
Fatal Fury3 .......F1Move F2Move F3Move F4Move F5Move F6Move F7Move F8Move F9Move HIT!!!...So a total of 9 frames and 9 movement to the HIT!
So the more actual animated frames the smoother the animation for the same Hit! I love the animation in the SF ALPHAS!
But anyway they could of at LEAST animated the backgrounds better than the original..that has nothing to do with the FIGHTING at all right?
Its like they just pasted HD sprites on the "basically same old game. Not much there to make me WANNA buy it again. I'll stick to my 50 other copies of it.
Hope that helps you to understand my point alittle...Gimmie something worthwhile Capcom.

Re: XBLA Purchase
Also you could consider Braid. I cant think of a higher reviewed XBLA exclusive game...
Re: XBLA Purchase
I ended up getting rez and it's freaking awesome, makes me wish I had an HD tv. For the record I already have sf2 turbo hd remix, it's actually the first street fighter title I ever owned, so I think it's pretty sweet but man I suck at that game, I've yet to win an online fight.
