I had a gift certificate and some games/movies to trade in, so I went game shopping today and here is my haul!

- Fatal Fury (SNES)
- Maximum Pool (DC)
- Sega GT (DC)
- Viewtiful Joe (GCN)
- Dead Or Alive 3 (XBX)

After everything was said and done, I only spent $1.86, so I'm pretty happy about that!

Too much stuff to play right now. No direct Christmas gifts but some gift card action plus a couple other purchases.

SMT Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker

NHL, Shovel Knight, and Ori are all games I have at least dabbled with so far, and all three make me want to shut off any other obligations. Really good stuff. The other two I haven't installed yet but those were a little less than $25 total from the most recent GameFly sale. I'll get into them eventually. EDIT: SMT is another one I still have to play!

I stayed away from Shovel Knight for a little while just because I'm getting kinda sick of all the retro-style games, but this really is living up to the hype for me. If it were an NES cart it'd be one of the best titles in the entire library, and would be extremely well thought of if it were from the 16-bit era as well. I like it better than Volgarr, which I liked a lot but was a little too ball-busting at times. Shovel Knight perfectly recaptures that old feeling where you're screaming at the game but still having fun and want to keep going.

December

2015 in its entirety

Interesting year. Picked up some new hardware (Atari 600XL, Jaguar, Amiga, Sharp Twin Famicom, Pico, MVS to AES converter) and thus my want list has absolutely exploded. I also finally took the plunge into digital gaming and have no regrets.

Not much action on the eighth gen front. I love my Wii U, 3DS, and Vita (still no interest in those other two thangs) but it seems like whenever I have some spare cash I gravitate more towards retro stuff.

Money is gonna be tighter in 2016 so I anticipate that I'll slow down quite a bit.

Wow, got a lot of games from the Steam sale haha... but I did get my first Saturn game as well. Not that I can really play it though since I don't have a Saturn but it's a start I guess.

I'll probably also put together a "2015 Overall" list a little later.

Wow I didn't know that there was a good Saturn emulator. I remember reading something a while ago about how it was difficult to emulate so I just assumed that I couldn't. Really nice to know.

Not that I can read Japanese well to play The Fourth Apocalypse though. I can't even read the kanji in the title, never mind the rest of the game
