Famicom Disk System is pretty good too.

How are those holding up though being magnetic disks of that age? That always had me hung up over them a bit some years ago.

Between buying Hyperzone, then Mega Man X arriving the other day and my getting Zombies on Sunday that'll be the most new SNES games I've touched in around a year now I believe. It's just gone ugly.

Probably if you have the whole 16bit war boys in this thread at all won't sit well, but I got a non-TMSS Genesis in the mail today and have been picking up some games for it as well. It's refreshing getting an earlier 90s console with an entirely different experience around it for prices one would expect from over a decade ago on Nintendo stuff. It's fun as you can snap up games as a mystery trial for like 5 bucks and a good many more hit at or under 20 too.

Far as I can tell the disks are hanging on better than the drives themselves. Those need the belts changed every now and then.

The snes will be in my hands in about a week or so. Like I did with the genesis I'm going to just get an everdrive for it. The games have gone way too up in price and the collecting carts are behind me.
Now don't get me wrong, if I see them cheap in the wild sure but as far as eBay and my retro stores are concerned nope.
Until I get an everdrive for it I will pick up just a couple of cheap games. I'll look here and there but I want to find these common titles
Mario world
Fzero
Final fight
Street fighter
Maybe Ken Griffy Jr baseball
I don't think those games are very expensive but I haven't really looked at the prices lately.

Edit:
Well I quickly looked on eBay. I'll just save for the everdrive

Final Fight, SF and Griffey used to be $2-3 a few years ago, now they're $10 each. It adds up. Even Super Famicom stuff is getting way up there.

Yup that's why I'm going to save for an everdrive
Damn the whole retro game genra and retro scene sucks on pricing wise. Everything else is good about it.

i forget where the everdrive thread is, but man i'm bummed! bought a few on black friday, and the 64ED works great (loads fast too! wish more of the mario 64 mods worked on actual hardware though), but my Super Everdrive 2 board was borked...would fail deleting whatever ROM it first had, and failed the self-test too. on its way back to Ukraine now, here's to hoping i see it again before spring!

^ From what I've seen on the forums, krikzz is pretty good when it comes to this sort of thing.

i don't doubt it one bit, really dig supporting the guy (doesn't hurt that he's a sega fan, haha)...just bummed it's gonna take a bit to get here. i tossed in a note saying if they accidentally put an SD2SNES board in there, that'd be okay too!

I love the Super Nintendo - The 16 Bit graphics I enjoy, I feel the PS1 & N64 era the graphic are horrible today. I don't have the time to sit and play Secret of Mana or Soul Blazer from start to finish. I have been playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Sunset Riders, R-Type III etc. I do agree the eBay sellers are making the prices get to expensive if you ask me.
