Re: Non-LCD TV for Game Room?
the only reason i can think of to have crts these days would be for those classic light gun shooters. even my nes looks fine on my 42" plasma so i cant think of a reason not to go modern other than $$.

The best deals are usually from people who are moving. I got my panasonic 32" from a co-workers mother because she didn't want to deal with moving it to a smaller house. I think I paid around $100 for it. Keep an eye out for people who are moving or remodeling and you might luck out.

I am going to keep looking at Craigs list, I am watching an NES for $10! but of course the shipping is at least 10.....

Check out goodwill too. . . I see tons of tvs at my goodwill. People buy an lcd and don't have anywhere to store or put the big crt so they just give it away since nobody's gonna pay for shipping on one on ebay or anything.
Re: Non-LCD TV for Game Room?
Just to clear up before people get confused, you CAN NOT play light games on a HD CRT. They will not work. Some modern SD CRTs also refresh faster than older models (which light guns were designed for) and will not work with light guns either. Best bet in finding a CRT to use with light gun games is craigslist or a thrift shop. Buying a new tv from walmart can be risky, even if it is a 480i SDTV. If you want to go the new route, do some research first, possibly even bringing a console and lightgun to a store to see if it works in person.

There were some amazing shooters for the Dreamcast, that are currently dormant to the fact that I've got LCDs in the house. The second TV would be for the Co-op function available in the PS2 time Crisis series.
