Just because there's some fancy RICO act doesn't make it a crime.marurun wrote:Racketeering's a crime, dude. So irresponsible!MrPopo wrote:You totally do. We need more west coast Racketeers.dsheinem wrote:I need to move to Washington

Anyone been to Holland? That shit's legal there, but some are having second thoughts.. You see you can't have the cake and eat it; a free society also means freedom from moral imperatives. Drug addicts may be classified as victims of their stupidity, but they sure as hell don't give a damn about the trade's victims in Mexico or Afghanistan etc. That makes cocoa labour concerns seem like second fiddle
Hollywood and its whore media circles romanticise victims of drug use like Philip Seymour Hoffman, but even he had a choice. He could have walked away from this madness of fame and all that it entails, but he made his choice and died by it.
What other good drug war movies are there?

Steven Seagal is such a mixed bag.. He fights crime and trafficking in his movies, but what does he do in real life?
Oh I totally forgot about Cartel Land, a documentary that is very much worth watching!

In a year where Hollywood defecated countless spandex-wearing sociopaths on our collective heads, there were dozens of high-quality productions that went under the radar. Totally worth watching.

Finally saw it (in one sitting, not just in bits and pieces spread throughout various Christmas eve showings):

Loved it. Amazing.

Truly a great movie, watch it again in color. True movie buffs will exclaim colorizing a black and white movie kills the effect. This is understandable where dark shadows add to the impact such as Film Noir movies. However, I have the earlier TNT colorized Laser Disc version which has a pastel effect as in Norman Rockwell paintings. Recently picked up the dual DVD which has a restored black and white and I think a newer colorized version.REPO Man wrote:Finally saw <Its A Wonderful Life> (in one sitting, not just in bits and pieces spread throughout various Christmas eve showings):

You know when a Disney blockbuster fails as family entertainment when even the youngins demand to switch to Diehard instead of this uninspired flick.

A Chirstmas Story
*sigh* As much as I do like this movie, the channel being stuck on the marathon it gets a little old, I'm starting to have it memorized now. Even the old rankin bass Christmas specials(which I love to death and wish they were easier to find and maybe in a bundle digitally), both grinches, and the older Christmas movies I probably haven't watched would be nice break from the monotomy of this movie when you've seen it that much every year.

i got Jurassic World on Blu Ray for Christmas, it was my first time seeing it since i never went to see it in theaters.
for starters, i liked it. so don't take the rest of this as a hate rant, but...
it had way too many scenes of "hey! remember the first movie?! wasn't the first movie great?! we're just like the first movie. so i'm sure you'll love us too!!!!!!"
i mean, there was a whole scene early in the movie. with one of the guys wearing an original jurassic park shirt.
what are you wearing?
oh this? it's a shirt from the first movie. because the first movie was great.
IT WAS A WHOLE SCENE!!!
if he was just wearing it and no one said anything, it would have been a wonderful easter egg for the observant. but instead they put a big neon sign around it and it just made the rest of the movie feel like it was jabbing you in the ribs ever 5 minutes reminding you how much you loved the first movie.
