XBLA Purchase

Post by PGchris »

You guys were actually pretty helpful last time I couldn't decide on an XBLA game so I'm gonna ask you again. I got 1000 MS points to blow, should I get Ikaruga or Rez HD or is there some other games I should be considering? I'm open to any and all suggestions.

That is pretty tough, they are both games that are hard to find on other systems. hmmm, that depends on your taste, if you like shmups go get Ikaruga, the game is really a challenge and it should keep you occupied for awhile. If you like something different, something experimental, get Rez, it is the only game I could think of that pretty much blends music and shmups all in one.

I would personaly pick Rez

Either, both are good. You won't be disappointed regardless of what you choose.

Yea...I think I'm leaning towards rez, I like schmups but I'm kinda new to them. If I wasn't crazy broke right now I'd just buy them both, damn my college text books.

i love ikagura, its super challanging and will keep you very busy for a while. its by far one of the best games you can find on xbla.. but then again so is rez. personally id watch some youtube videos of both and then pick which one i want to be playing. let us know what you end up choosing.

other alternative that could be very entertaining would be street fighter turbo hd. im not sure if its 1000points or 1500 points but it would be a great long lasting game to play too.

I love both...but if your new to Shemups IKA is fairly hard...you might get mad...often
REZ on the other hand is easier and it is by far more addictive to me...I get into the music.. :)

If it's a choice between those two, I'd say Rez by a mile unless you're a hardcore shmup guy. I won both games on XBLA. Ikaruga's interesting and polished, but it's hard to stick with. Rez is fun even on a basic level but offers a chance for depth if you go back and try to 100 percent all the areas.

If you have 200 points left over you could get an XNA community game. I'm thinking about snagging Johnny Biscuit's Platform Romp. It's a port of a DS homebrew game and looks pretty cool actually.
