It's looking like Vita games - at least the really Wapanese ones - are starting to become scarce. Just picked up the last copy of Dengeki Bunko Limited Edition in my area after I couldn't find it on Amazon, and new copies of Senran Kagura's Limited Ediiton are really low on Amazon and completely out locally as well.

I might be wrong, but I'd recommend you guys hit your local GameStops or wherever else might sell the games that Wal-Mart and Target won't carry before it's too late.

FWIW, Madden 13 is still the best portable football game ever. I still play it.

So does anyone know if there's any difference between the Japanese and American Vita? Can a Japanese one be set to be in English, connected to an American PSN account, and play all the American games?
Because I kind of seriously want to buy this Dragon Quest Vita.

(Except Play-Asia is charging $400 for preorders and I don't want it THAT badly... hopefully I can find an alternate source.)

So, your buttons in the system menu will be a bit wonky as with the games. Because in Japan the selection button is O instead of X, and X is the cancel button. And some English games honor the system level configuration and others don't.

Beyond that it's just like any American Vita once you set it to English and get your profile on it. Except it looks nicer.

I have a lime one I have. I should really play it more. I got rid of my Borderlands 2000 for it and after I got it I just sort of let it sit in the box after a brief setup.

You can find the more common varieties for about American MSRP on eBay super easily. I think I got mine for $213 + $20 for expedited shipping. I don't know about the Dragon Quest one.

I've been managing to my 16 gig memory card forever - deleting lesser titles to make room for new sales, etc. Saw today that the 16 gig cards are $19.99 at Amazon - that seems like a good enough price cut! especially with how we'll see more and more PSP flash sale titles. I can finally download all my cross-buys also.

note: just remembered I have a 4 gb one that came as a pack-in that I never used. Bah - well it still isn't enough to really do much with. I couldn't just put PSP games on that one or something to that effect.

Yeah it's kinda sad, my gamestops are the only "decent" thing on the matter. The walmart's and targets suck. They usually only have 1 or 2 vita games(usually that stupid mlb game) and really nothing else unless you buy the vita tv pack. I love this system but it's pathetic what has happened to the system in 3 years, despite the unique control scheme it has(I have never really seen a system that has the rear touchscreen, and front one used in tangent). Though it seems like you don't hear of many games that take advantage of it. I think sony like has been said many times before shot themselves in the foot not only with the price of it but with the price of those darned memory cards...Once I get some money saved up for the ones I don't have i'll definitely stock up and finish it out(then attempt to to get a memory card for the other regions and attempt to get some of those)

My systems: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, original gba, gba sp(001), ds lite, 3ds, vita, psp, PSone(101 model) ps2, ps3(320gb model), ps4, retron 5, and Dreamcast.

Personally, I think they should have just gone the N-Gage route with it and made it work as a cell phone. I mean it already has many cell phone functions, you can even do text messages with it through some sort of magic. Sure, the N-Gage flopped, but if the N-Gage had better games on it, I bet it would have done a lot better.

Making it a cell phone is really the only way I could see it working in today's environment. It's the only way they could have a decent leg up on Nintendo and maybe even start being a mild annoyance to Apple.

I mostly use my Vita as a Spelunky and Binding of Isaac machine. My anime-obsessed sibling already bought the Danganranpa games and Persona 4, as this is the only system we really share between us, but I haven't really tried them yet.

It's a really great little machine, but are there any other physical releases really worth buying? I can't seem to find much other consent in the rest of the thread on what's really good, though people seem to like Senran Kagura and the Corpse Party games so far as I can tell.

Between Amazon and eBay I've been able to find every Vita game I've wanted. Trying to shop for niche games for a niche handheld in mainstream brick'n'mortars isn't the best approach.

While I lament the amount of Japanese Vita games which were not localized, I personally own over 50 Vita games (in physical format no less) and can't complain too much about the library we have gotten so far. We got a lot of nice Vita games localized this year actually. And we still have stuff like The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, Trillion: God of Destruction, and Senran Kagura Estival Versus - Endless Summer Edition to look forward to coming to USA soon.

My Vita is mostly either my Hyperdimension Neptunia machine or a nice thing to look pretty on a shelf. It's a really good console, but there just aren't that many games for it that I want (at least enough to buy instead of other games) that aren't available on consoles. Granted, there are some weeby games (that's my not-so-nice-but-actually-endearing term for super Japanese/anime-ish games) that I really want, but since they're so hard to find at my local Gamestop as it is, I'd have to go online for them anyway. :(
