Deodorant (but not antiperspirant) recommendations
Deodorant (but not antiperspirant) recommendations
I'm a long-time user of Old Spice High Endurance deodorant (original scent, of course), but I've noticed in the past year or two that occasionally one of my underarms gets really itchy and becomes quite irritated if I scratch it. I'm worried that the perfume Old Spice uses or some other chemical in the product is starting to irritate that sensitive underarm skin. If you use a deodorant product, what is it you use, and is it easy on the skin?
*I'm not interested in products that also act as an antiperspirant. I don't get along with those. I'm only interested in deodorants.

I had the same problem this month, so they had to change something. I am a staunch Old Spice user but could not take the itch. On a whim I grabbed my wife's Secret just to get by but it is not nearly as powerful.

I'm not sure what they're normally called, but I use something similar to Crystal Deodorant. It looks like a salt block I guess? It's kind of troublesome to find (I usually only see one of these in the aisle) but it doesn't have a scent and it doesn't irritate me at all. Not sure how well it works compared to other things (I only started using since it was the ONLY deodorant that wasn't an antiperspirant I could find in Canada) but it might be worth a try.

This. It is what I use, and it works for me. It is by no means as powerful as traditional deodarants, but if you shower on a near daily basis, it is sufficient. It also does not result in any sort of rash or irritation.laurenhiya21 wrote:I'm not sure what they're normally called, but I use something similar to Crystal Deodorant. I stuck with Speedstick for years which was awful haha.
I made the jump to Dove and haven't looked back. You get what you pay for, so that extra price is worth it in the end to me. No rash or dryness.

I use Tom's of Maine. That's a brand, I don't have a friend named Tom.

Degree. It works the best out of what I've tried. I do use the antiperspirant variety though.
I've had some success with Mitchum as well.

I used the crystal deodorant for years. It worked fairly well. Not sure why I changed, but now I use Dove Men's Care, they have both an antiperspirant and a deodorant only and I use the latter. Never had any problems.

I found out that I have insanely sensitive skin in my older age. I use Arm & Hammer Ultramax. I'm a sweaty guy and it works great and does not irritate my skin at all!
