Watch out for that giant monkey though....or even the giant grexes. I've gotten one hit killed by so many of those giant grexes...TheSSNintendo wrote:Working on Chapter 3 right now, and so far I'm enjoying the game.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Yay Jon! We can team up soon.
I like some of the multiplayer aspects that are woven into this game. There are instances where you can team up and kill a bunch of monsters together, in a multiplayer setting. Usually though it's a objective-based mode where everyone has 5 types of monsters that need to be killed and/or objects collected. It's like you've all been given a squad-assignment by the BLADE organization you work for, and you're all out in the field doing it together.
I would like more multiplayer involvement, but that's okay. The squads you can join are great. I've been reading the subreddit for this game and the community is helpful. Jon the biggest advice I can give is to read the manual a little before jumping in, because again there's no hand holding at all.
I have some minor complaints about the game but I think it's the best one I've played this year.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X
Has anyone figured out how to find specific people to scout? I might just be an idiot, but I'm having trouble figure that aspect out. I've been trying to find one of my buddies from college in the world to scout, but I can't find him. We're always in the same squad, and I know he has his avatar registered. I've seen my character on his game - I'm always right in front of the BLADE barracks in his game - but I've never seen him in mine. When I try to use the Scout Console, I narrow it down to his level bracket and his class, but he never shows up in the search results.
Am I an idiot, does the game hate me, or is there some convoluted way to search that I just haven't found yet?

This game is awesome. Beat the final boss after 78 hours. Level 55 (overleveled, but what ever).
There's very little in this that isn't an improvement over the first Xenoblade Chronicles. And that was one of the best RPGs of its generation.
Now I'm going to try some of the multiplayer battles.

Epic game. Only SLIGHTLY let down by the story and a few comfort issues like audio mixer and font size.

So the story doesn't measure up very well then?k.vlaros wrote:This game is awesome. Beat the final boss after 78 hours. Level 55 (overleveled, but what ever).

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X
I would suggest finishing through Chapter 6 as soon as you can. There are few things more satisfying than going through Mira and slaughtering things with a giant pink flamethrower-wielding robot. I finished Chapter 6 three days ago, and I still have yet to do another story mission; I'm just doing tons of side quests with my giant pink robot. With a flamethrower. And a missile launcher.TheSSNintendo wrote:Working on Chapter 3 right now, and so far I'm enjoying the game.
This game is beautiful in so many ways....

It just doesn't have as many twists and turns as the XBC. There is quite a lot of writing for the side quests. Lots of stuff around religion and raciscim.Xeogred wrote:So the story doesn't measure up very well then?

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X
It's got some great character development and side story telling, but in terms of the main quest line, yeah, it feels somewhat basic. There's such a wealth of side quests, though, that I don't even mind it.k.vlaros wrote:It just doesn't have as many twists and turns as the XBC. There is quite a lot of writing for the side quests. Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X
So I am playing through it right now and am enjoying it a lot. My previous experience with Xenoblade Chronicles, makes the combat system very familiar, but with enough changes that keep me on my toes. I have the synergy with my teammates and making combos down, but I will always have a hard time making the most efficient gear work with my skills.
I am not a number cruncher in RPGs and thankfully, there is enough strategy in the combat system to help make up for my failings.
I am a member of the Pathfinders and, little did I know, they are the least popular group... no bonuses for little old me it seems.
