The only consoles I'm planning to hook up to it are DC, Sat and SCD by the way. Already have DC going via SVideo.

On my HD WEGA, both the PS2 and Dreamcast Lightgun would try to work, but the sight would jump around the screen. Its just not the scanlines of an SD Tube. Try also some "higher" resolution consoles thru the HDMI input to really be blown away by the picture; even a PS2 with Component set at 480p will really shine. You can find a 480p/720p/1080i HD PS2 list at Wiki.

Really, don't regulate your HD CRT for just older consoles. Try the DVD, Bluray player and any TV signal via Cable, Dish or even the Antenna with a matched Digital Tuner. The TV signals of both HD and especially regular SD all will look very sharp unlike the upscale issues of SD on an LCD or LED screen.

Speaking of TV, I posted a Guide recently that also could be of use your HD CRT.

Even newer LCDs and LEDs with a phono jack audio output can benefit from the TV Mods Guide.

Sorry Noise, but I'm afraid light gun games will not work with an HD television - even if it is a CRT. It has to be a standard definition CRT television.

noise is getting upset.

Don't get me wrong, my Sega CD and DC are looking gorgeous on this thing. But I am so bummed about the light guns. That was what made me want to buy it. Oh well. Too heavy to do move it out now.

Don't make Noise angry; You wouldn't like Noise when he's angry. He becomes... The Incredibly Bulky TV owner.

light guns have to do with scanlines and refresh rate, not with the type of tube used (lcd/led/plasma vs. crt). i learned this the hard way with an HD CRT, too. so i feel yr pain, bud.

This is what $20 bucks got me today at the a thrift store! After not finding stuffs at my local fleamarket and then Salvation army, I almost gave up for the day. But I went to the second thrift store in town and I scored nicely. I found a bunch of gameboy games behind glass and I started asking 'how much?' At first the guy said three dollars each, I said to him to pull them all out so I can inspect them. They were all pretty clean! As I was going through them the guy said...."how about all of them for $20?" How could I say no? So yeah I took them all! Ten gameboy/color games and twelve gba games! And I did see that DS game Sprung there too. I didn't ask for it, but the guy threw it in the lot anyways.Pretty nice of him eh? Anyways....Games time! DS: Sprung. GB: Waverace, Godzilla The series. GBC: Simpsons night of the living treehouse of horror, Rampage 2, Spiderman, Mickey's Speedway USA, Buzz lightyear of Star Command, Pure Ride, The Wild Thornberry's Rambler GBA: Spiderman 2, Namco Museum, Crash Bandicoot 2 N-tranced, Tak 2 Staff of dreams, Yu yu Hakusho Spirit detective, Spyro Season of ice, Medabots, Duel masters, Kao the Kangaroo, Tony Hawks Underground, Operation Armed liberty, and Shaman King Legacy of The spirits. $20 well spent!

Found some PC goodness today at the thrift store for $5.30:

Tex Murphy Overseer
Beyond Atlantis II
Amerzone: The Explorer's Legacy
Sam & Max: Season 1
Heretic
Hexen II
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
Shivers Two
Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain

Only the CDs and original cases, no big boxes, but still a pretty good get considering the drought around here lately.

Edit: I spoke too soon. Ended up finding a complete copy of Final Fantasy III for the DS today for $1.50. Here's a picture of everything, since I'm not feeling quite as lazy today as I was last evening.

I'm becoming a real amazon warehouse junky  .

The (LN) copy of Sakura Wars So Long My Love(PS2) that I got for $16.63 is in perfect condition with all the extras :). If it had not been for the AWD sticker under the shrink wrap I would have believed it was new and sealed.
