Reversing the yellowing of SNES

Do to something in the manufacturing of the plastic a lot of SNES's turned yellow over time. A seemingly unreversible condition can be undone with a mixture of over the counter hydrogen peroxide and oxi bleach set in a sealed container under sunlight.

Not quite done yet but results speak for themselves:

I hope thats just the shell of the console in the foil container. Looks kind of moist in there. I'm kind of confused though, is the bottom of the console in the first pic already whitened? I know in some consoles only certain parts yellow, mine included. The plastic on the controller ports on mine are starting to yellow slightly, but the rest of the SNES is fine, weird. Best of luck to you though.

Yeah, I removed the top with a 4.5mm security bit available on ebay. The top of my SNES turned yellow while the bottome stayed normal. I have seen the reverse... Thanks.

The plastic is fine and I started this 10 days ago. Peroxide and Oxy bleach are plastic safe. Chlorine bleach will hurt plastic so never use that.

Oxy bleach small container - $3.40
4.5mm bit (ebay) - $5

It can get there with some effort.

It looks like its working in that picture.I would rather paint it another color with plastic paint instead of doing all that work.

Took it out of the soak last night for inspection. It is now a creme white with a slight tint of grey. I dried it and attached it to the bottom half and they weren't at all that far apart. It has definitely 'worked' to a large extent, but I don't know at this point if a full reversal is possible.

I already put it in a new batch of peroxide and oxy bleach and set it out in the sun in a large ziploc bag.

I'll make sure to take a picture before the next preparation.
