What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

:D - I'm not a huge fan of "Abridged" YouTube videos, but I think the one my cousin made came out really well:

Justice League War Abridged

We had a big premiere party and it was super fun! I played Shazam, and my brother played Superman :D
Final Fantasy IX is the best one

So to further piss me off I left and went to the pawnbroker located in Worcester MA. I walked in and seen a ton of decent snes games. Now last time I was there they charged me 4.00 a piece for Genesis, snes and nes. So I asked the clerk to get Mario all stars, dk country, killer instinct, mk3. Then I asked him if they were still 4.00 a piece and he said no they are individually priced. I told him that none of the games are. He didn't listen and went right on Amazon. After he was done he told me he would make a deal and sell them for 80.00 because they go for more on Amazon. I told him good luck on that and told him if I wanted amazon I would of went on Amazon. I was so pissed off.
This reemphasizes the point of NEVER selling your games. I see your cycle is now at buying games again, hope you don't do another downturn of selling again.

Good for you telling that clerk that you would go to Amazon since they price checked right on the spot. I hate it when customers block the aisles at BookOff doing price compares online with some of them obviously re-sellers. The worst I saw was a re-seller scanning bar codes with his smart phone and dumping books in his basket without even looking at the front covers.

Sadly, BookOff no longer flat rates most of the older disc games at five bucks, but now charges individual prices. Still lower then online, but the nature of the business. The online checks have driven prices up at all venues, be it BookOff, Retro Game Stores, Thrift Stores and even Swap Meets. A doubled edged sword; the online research makes a game more available to the masses with a tradeoff of increased price.

@crtgamer:If I see some good titles at a very cheap place then cool I'm in. But I have been at my retro store and I have been at other stores and I've turned away from Genesis, snes and n64 games. I've also turned away from ps1 and ps2 unless I see them super cheap like darkstalkers.
Believe me when I say this. Unless they are dirt cheap I try to stay away. I will pop in stores but I now know that everdrives are the things to get.

...well, that's not really the point for the people paying these prices though is it?

I think those collectors are well aware of everdrives...they want the physical collection.

Personally, when it comes to SNES, I'm now almost entirely into collecting reproduction carts of previously unavailable titles. The fact that the technology and translations now exist to make these things possible is like someone opened a timewarp to the end of the SNES era where the system never died and the ports kept coming.

Smile - it took several hours to build, but backyard family is almost complete:
Image

That is a Large Big Green Egg, a Kingsford 32" square model, a Weber Smokey Joe JR, and a Backyard FUN 17" grill.

I know it seems crazy to have four grills with only two people in the house. But the Weber was in the house when we moved in, the backyard fun was obtained off the side of the road in the sticks. When we have parties they all have their duties:
BGE/Kingsford - primary cooking. The egg will mostly be used as a smoker for BBQ.
Weber - for those that have dietary concerns, ie kosher or vegan.
Backyard Fun - CORN. Once it is going, it cooks 20 ears every fifteen minutes. On the 4th of July this year it cooked over 100 ears.

Sure we could consolidate, and probably will in the near future. But for now, I can cook upwards of 80 burgers on charcoal and another 18 on lump at the same time.

Ticked - I do not get to test my smoking on the Egg until Friday. I have 30lbs of Boston butt in my fridge right now...

:( Spent a night in the hospital. Nothing serious at all, a minor operation but man is it depressing on those wards.

:) I had loads of handheld gaming time at least. Beat the last 50% of Akiba's Trip and the entirety of Ys 1 on PSP. Just started Ys 2 before I left as well.

:D I might be moaning about the hospital, but for all the crap the UK NHS gets, they were professional, friendly, had high standards of care and fed me pretty well too. And all for free.

I'll never understand why some Americans are so opposed to free healthcare :?

:( Roz has a true blue fever tonight. Nothing serious but it really is affecting her sleep. Guess she will have to sleep on my chest while I grind through xenoblade chronicles x. Who needs sleep right?

I've heard nothing but good things about the Big Green Eggs, but I haven't broken down and picked one up yet. I still use my Weber Genesis Silver A for everything - 15 years old. It is starting to finally look worse for wear - but still fires up every time and gives great even heat - up to 500 degrees in 3-4 minutes.

:D Just belted out "Midnight Radio" at The Point's karaoke night!

The Point, a restaurant here in Buxton where my mom works, is open till midnight tonight (they normally close at 9pm) doing a karaoke night.

I originally didn't know if I'd end up doing a song, but I decided to just say "fuck it" and... go through the song book first. I originally wanted to do a Nightwish song but the only song they had was "Amaranth" and I wanted to do something from Imaginaerum. So then I went through the book, saw no Marilyn Manson, and a few songs from RENT.

I almost did a song from RENT, but then decided to see if they had any Hedwig and the Angry Inch songs.

And it was a tossup between "Midnight Radio" and "The Origin of Love" (with a different crowd I may have even entertained doing "Sugar Daddy"  ) but went with the former.

I think my mom got video of my performance. By karaoke standards I was pretty decent.
