Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
When it comes to controllers, what do you guys prefer? I'm trying to decide the best option. I really like the microswitches in the Neo-Geo CD controller (like the stick on the NGPC). I like the form factor of the Neo-Geo CD Pro Joystick, since it's smaller than the standard AES joystick. Does that have microswitches in the stick, too?

Re: Let's talk about your NEO GEO collecting + PRICE GUIDES
Has anyone come up with a consolized NGPC yet?
I vaguely remember some moron trying lie to the ng.com guys about one and they rightfully ripped him apart... but I haven't seen a real one (not that I've tried looking that hard either).
The library looks interesting and reasonably priced, but that non-lit screen looks no bueno to me. I remember forcing my way through Castlevania CotM with my launch GBA. I'd rather gouge my eyes out than try that again on the SNK equivalent.

hahaha, I remember that fraud. The guy took a pic that had a mouse pointer in the screenshot.
The only thing I can think of is I feel like there were dev kits that outputted to TV's or monitors? Not like those are easy to come by though if I'm even remembering correctly.
It might be in your best interest (and mine) to get a frontlight mod done though.

Great. I'm already collecting for way too many platforms and I just started some eBay searches for NGPC.
I'll never learn...

Just a nicely backlit handheld similar to the GB Boy would be nice. The only modding possible is frontlighting. I have had this done and while it looks okay, it also washes out the colours in a way that backlighting wouldn't.Omerta wrote:Has anyone come up with a consolized NGPC yet?

The main problem seems to be that there just isn't much nostalgia for the NGPC in the way that there is with the famicom and GB so nobody was/is trying to clone the hardware. Still, when so many Chinese fakes are now including sliders and sticks it surely isn't beyond impossible for someone to make a NGPC with every game built in...but it would take some dedication.

Worst part is, that guy who bullshitted ng? I had bought a consolized GBA off of him in the past.
He did decent work, but charged way too much and took it all up front (and claimed it was his own circuits when it was just an Innovation TV Out board). Ah well, live and learn, we're all stupid sometimes and you can't take it with you.

Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

played a bit of Baseball Stars NGPC while watching TV last night. My opinion on it seems to remain the same as it did when I last played it a couple of years ago. Which is that it's impossible. Basically as soon as the computer is up at bat, they just bury me because fielding seems so crappy in this game. Even with a 4-0 lead when they got up to bat, the game ended itself at 4-14 in the first inning. Not really fun.

I don't understand the sport of baseball as it is so the only baseball games I've ever been any good at are the Wii Sports ones. I've got both NGPC now after taking delivery of the B&W one as well as the one on the Wii collection. I also find it impossible to win a single match! It was the same story on the virtual boy with its baseball game...noiseredux wrote:played a bit of Baseball Stars NGPC while watching TV last night.
