GAME ROOM Tips, Setup & Storage - On the CHEAP!

Are you planning on building a Game Room? Are you looking for suggestions on storage and setup? Metal Jesus walks you through the solutions he has discovered including bookshelves, entertainment centers, storage bins, dust covers and even sexy colored LED lighting!

This video is in response to the TONS of questions I get about this topic every single week. Hopefully it gives people some new ideas about their game rooms!

Definitely dug this one Jesus, I still like the idea you mentioned (maybe in the collection tour) about using zip lock bags for controllers. Been needing to do that, there's nothing I hate more than stored peripherals getting dusty!

Neat idea using wood shoe racks for add on shelves. The TV tray perfect for the handhelds, the ease of moving all to any room for a quick gameplay. That tray would be sweet for PlugnPlays as well for moving to other TVs on the fly.

Sega GAME GEAR Buying Guide & Fun Games

LINK: https://youtu.be/insQ4HcY55M

The Sega Game Gear is an 8-bit handheld game console that competed with the Nintendo Game Boy & Atari Lynx, but stood on its own with a backlit color display and great accessories. Metal Jesus & Kinsey help beginning Game Gear collectors with the pros and cons of the system, what problems to look out for, modding the screen for better displays, fun accessories, collectable color variants and some games you should buy Day 1.

What Game Gear games would you recommend new collectors pick up Day 1?

Good video man. One of the best RPGs I've played was on GameGear; sadly I can't remember the name.

What hand held is your favorite? New or old.

I really love the Sony PSP. So many awesome racing games and RPGs released for it.

GBA is 2nd favorite.

I am not going to lie, this video really made me interested in collecting for the Game Gear.

I remember my cousin having one with Mortal Kombat 2 and X-Men. I loved it and was incredibly jealous! Also, pointing out the peripherals really encouraged me to think about it, since I have never played the Master System either and that would be very interesting to invest in!

I loved this video!

Honestly, if Hyperkin adds Game Gear support to the Retron 5, I think a LOT of people are going to jump on these games because it will look beautiful upscaled via HDMI.

it sucks about that capactor thing though.

that might be a turn off to some gamers.

I had lots of gamegears over the years and They've worked fine. But the few that I've picked up now have no sound! :(

I think there might be a lucrative(?) market in gamegear repairing. Especially those mods on yours Metal Jesus.

I wouldn't mind having one like that.

Short list there. It was probably Defenders of the Oasis or Shining Force. ;)

There was also Ax Battler, Dragon Crystal, and Crystal Warriors.

I really agree when you said, "The less I spend on this stuff, the more I get to spend on video games." Game rooms, especially those that are in a basement, don't have to look fancy to be awesome. They just have to be functional and comfortable. My basement room, I always try to spend as little money as possible. I either repurpose things I already own or try to find things for free (friends and relatives getting rid of furniture, that sort of thing). Only when that fails I'll spend actual money on something, and even then I try to spend as little as possible.

If you ever paint the shelves, here is my tip: Let them fully cure before putting your games back in them! Me personally, I would just spray them all black. Black will cover better (use less paint) and it's easier to get everything to match. Also, black always looks good. I would use Krylon Fusion, it covers great and the drying time is really fast. But even still, I would let them cure for a WHILE before restocking the shelves. At least a week, depending on weather conditions.

Reason being, if they're not fully cured and you stack all your games back on the shelves, the weight of the games plus the fact that you might not move them for long periods of time could cause problems like the paint peeling and sticking to game cases/boxes. If your basement is anything like mine, it gets pretty humid, especially during the summer months. High humidity will make the paint take a LONG time to cure. So my tip it to let them cure in ideal conditions (temperature, humidity), the length of time will vary but I suggest letting them cure for a couple of days AFTER you think they're already fully cured (better safe than sorry).
