Frogger 2:

Nobody ever talks about this game, but I love it. Takes the old "move one square at a time" concept of Frogger and turns it into this huge 3D platformer type game that incorporates a lot of strategy and timing. So fun.

Note that Frogger II and Frogger 2 are two completely different games.

I've only played the former but that one you mentioned does look awesome, noise.

And I concur with the Tactics Ogre and Drill Dozer picks. Awesome games. Oh, and Tactics Ogre is also on the Saturn.

Intriguing thread.

The one I'm talking about is Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge

The Tactics Ogre entry on the GBA is also awesome, though for its own reasons.

Drill Dozer is spectacular.

Also, I'll update my post with an image, given that everyone else has them! :)

I've seen people talking about OutRun recently and I suddenly remembered this sequel that I used to play all the time.

I've had this game since I was a kid and it is a fantastic driving game. The 'futuristic' style is really interesting and I love the extra boost you get. If you love the original OutRun, give this one a shot. It's a really good sequel and a game nobody talks about!

Oh wow, I was going to post Outrun 2019 myself. Guess I'll suggest something more modern then with Child of Eden. Beautiful rail-shooter from the guy behind the seminal Rez.

Outrun 2019 is really wonderful, better than most scaler games for the Genesis probably because it wasn't trying to be an arcade port. The music is rockin' and the sense of speed is really well done. It doesn't have the sense of calm coolness of the original but it makes up for it with its hypersonic Batmobile and solid gameplay.

Anyway, my pick is one of my perennial favorites:

Robot Alchemic Drive (PS2)

From Sandlot, the creators of the EDF series and gaming's answer to B-movies. You remote control a gigantic robot from the perspective of a person with a jetpack and have to wrestle with convoluted controls to save the cities from invading robot monsters. The story is corny and the English dubbing will make even the worst Godzilla movie blush.

If you can get into the proper mindset when playing this it's really unique. The scale and completely destructible cities are great.

I've been meaning to pick up RAD for quite a while now it's gotten somewhat pricey though and I've never seen one in the wild.

I enjoyed the heck out of this. Tough as nails, but a great exploratory platformer.
