Thanks Samson & BMF
@BMF - I hope all goes well with your stuff as well. Medical stuff is incredibly stressful at any time, but with a baby in the home it can't be easy.

Medical stuff is always complicated and stressful. Speaking of which I need to set an eye appointment.

It's called Kindred, and it's basically a Tinder for friends - You pick a username and are matched up anonymously with people in your area based on your interests. If you hit it off, you can share a picture of yourself so you know what to look for when you meet up in meat-space!
Anyway, I'm hoping it comes out early next year. It's on a bootstrap budget, but I'm thinking about doing a Kickstarter, and I couldn't be more excited!

Yeah mom has already told me that we have to kinda wait for the EOB to come out to find out if I overpaid if they missed it somehow...BogusMeatFactory wrote:Call the hospital and make sure that they did the right billing code for your insurance, you would be surprised how often things. Don't know why but I like the idea of having local food especially healthy local meats and such now(kinda nice really knowing where the food I eat comes from and it being in season if I can help it...)....especially since i'm trying to ease in to that whole foods diet so by the time I'm out of the house(hopefully in a few years), I one have a decent emergency fund, and 2 having my eating under control and have better choices nearby when i decide to stress eat. Kinda been battling this last 30lbs for the past 2 years almost and for someone my age I shouldn't have any trouble taking and keeping it off but I apparently don't have the metabolism to do so....

I got so mad today.
I went to a goodwill before work. They had a bunch of Xbox and 360 and Wii games. The only game worth getting was little league 2009 for the Wii. Well of course they didn't have it. I asked the clerk if I can take the case and he said I have to charge you 99 cents. Unbelievable. Then I did see super monkey ball for 20.00 and sonic 2 for ten dollars.
So to further piss me off I left and went to the pawnbroker located in Worcester MA. I walked in and seen a ton of decent snes games. Now last time I was there they charged me 4.00 a piece for Genesis, snes and nes.
So I asked the clerk to get Mario all stars, dk country, killer instinct, mk3. Then I asked him if they were still 4.00 a piece and he said no they are individually priced. I told him that none of the games are. He didn't listen and went right on Amazon. After he was done he told me he would make a deal and sell them for 80.00 because they go for more on Amazon. I told him good luck on that and told him if I wanted amazon I would of went on Amazon. I was so pissed off.
Don't get me wrong guys when I say this but I absolutely hate how retro gaming has gone to shit lately. I'm so mad that someone sees a nes or snes or now Genesis and people think they go for top dollar like its 1993 again. It ruins gaming for me. I promise I am not getting any snes, nes or Genesis games until I save and get the everdrives. Thank god no one cares on ps1 or ps2 or Wii for now.

I understand the frustration but this is what happens when westerners who were playing these games as kids are now independently wealthy 30 somethings who don't mind dropping these prices on ebay etc just to get the game they couldn't afford as a kid or to recreate childhood nostalgia.mas wrote:I got so mad today.

It's become so predictable that it's the reason we have threads like the "too early to talk about valuable Wii games" one. We've all seen how the cycle progresses. I have sealed Wii games now that are staying in an attic for the next fifteen years for this very purpose
It is annoying for the gamer that finding ignorant stores selling valuable games for pennies in the wild is becming a rarer and rarer thing, but you also can't blame business people for smartening up. Why would he care about selling you the games for $4 if he can get triple that on ebay or amazon? I don't think it's very customer friendly to be doing that right in front of your customers faces but still...
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I wouldn't have cared if they were individually priced that wasn't my problem. But for me to go there and have the guy who isn't even the owner and it was some kid, and I know they buy the games for like 1.00 or something to charge me what amazon says because Mario all stars has list for 40.00 is just crazy.Betagam7 wrote:I understand the frustration but this is what happens when westerners who were playing these games as kids are now independently wealthy 30 somethings who don't mind dropping these prices on ebay etc just to get the game they couldn't afford as a kid or to recreate childhood nostalgia.mas wrote:I got so mad today.

They have had a original brick gameboy there for 199.99 because its 25 years old. That's what it says on the tab. Lol. And the fact that not one retro game was priced, he decided to look at the prices because I asked. Maybe the kid did that so he could buy them for himself.

Visiting Iceland sounds super cool though.
Well, we're back now and she doesn't seem too upset about the lack of proposals. We had a pretty great time.
Things started off badly as a massive storm in Iceland delayed the flight by a full 22 hours. Once we eventually got there it was great though. We even managed to see the Northern Lights towards the end of the week - very clear and bright and directly above our heads - probably just about the best conditions you could expect for viewing them.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Ha, yeah. The games were probably older than the clerk. I remember a store in the UK I used to go into Gamestation that always had some battered up, torn copy of Secret of Mana for sale for £90!mas wrote:I wouldn't have cared if they were individually priced that wasn't my problem. This was only about five years ago before GAME bought them out...I don't believe they ever sold it. They seemed to think it was some impossible to find treasure or something.
