Board James is actually my least favorite thing Rolfe has done. I've watched every AVGN episode multiple times, my daughter and I have seen every episode of YKWB, I've watched about 75% of James and Mike Play, but only about 25% of Board James. It's okay. I just prefer everything else a lot more.

Mike's grown on me a fair bit. It's cool that they do these different things every once awhile and it's not just the AVGN shtick nowadays. The James and Mike LP's are awesome. Just a little frustrating because they're not that great at a lot of them though lol...

I like the fact that they struggle with many games.
TAS and perfect game runthroughs have gotten kind of stale.
Plus I'm not so great at video games myself.

I maintain that Board James is the best stuff James has ever done. It's great cheesy fun. I enjoyed the hell out of the latest episode.

Unfortunately that is the LAST Board James ep.

The Early BJ stuff I really liked. After Dream Phone it got insane. It's good, but I like plain Vanilla reviews of my bored games.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Board James is actually my least favorite thing Rolfe has done. realized this is a resurrected topic but just chiming in...
while i watched a fairly good amount of avgn episodes, the whole "angry" thing just made me tired of watching any other youtube video game review video (including avgn eventually). its a really tired shtick nowadays and the content creators are usually on it for just some YT money or maybe some convention pass.

You obviously haven't seen the Seaman episode.arcadifvid wrote:realized this is a resurrected topic but just chiming in...

James doesn't do AVGN much at all anymore, which was a good move. The newer episodes are a lot more elaborate and well written. It's come a long ways.
I love all the additional content him, Mike, and Bootsy do. I wish James would stop hanging out with the Nostalgic Critic though. Can't stand him...
