Pfft :P

Are you "installing" the game (well downloading the data packs) by the way? I haven't got enough space to do so, I'm hoping the game doesn't run too badly off the disc...

yes I am, that's what I meant by patches. I have an external drive, which according to eurogamer is actually better than having the digital release on the wii u memory

(depending on the speed of the HD ofc)

I've never tried connecting an external drive to the Wii U. Do you need to have a hard drive that is completely "designated" to the Wii U or can I literally just use my external that has a bunch of TV shows, films, documents, work and music and crap on it? And are Wii U's really picky about whether they can read an external or not? My external hard drive is 3TB or something and I know some devices don't like it. I do have a 500GB lying around somewhere though if needs be...

As mentioned, changing a couple things like this amounts to very little. Changing even more (like, say, Nier did) would still be relatively inconsequential next to the full translation, voice work, and so on.

Additionally, localization may also include expanding licensing agreements, contracts, certifications, and so on that would make things a lot more complicated than slapping English subtitles on and calling it a day.

If it were a big deal, publishers would probably make more of a point to ensure the base product didn't need to be changed - which could (and perhaps should) have been the case here. I doubt anyone would complain about the lack of a boob slider in the game if the Japanese version never had it either.

yes you need a designated HD. the wii u formats it. I don't know about it being picky, since I'm using a very old external hd that my dad had. One major thing that I'v eheard is that it's important for it to have its own power supply, otherwise it's much slower.

Try out with your 500GB HD, it should work

The game world is just amazing. it seems to be huge, the creature design is gorgeous. One bad thing IS the music...I mean it's not bad, but it truly is anime instead of JRPG....and well.....they have hip-hop in it, which just ISN'T my kind of genre

one bug I encountered was that when I got to New Los Angeles the promt to use the elevator to get in wouldn't show up. So I had to save the game, quit and load. then it worked. will shower and continue playing

Yeah, the music is pretty bad. What's with the cheesy 'Rock' music? Call me old fashioned, but I like my JRPGs to have more... traditional(?), classical/fantasy based music.

I haven't encountered any bugs yet personally (the elevator worked fine for me), hopefully there aren't too many. I also agree, by the way, that the game world and creature design are both absolutely stunning. The game is gorgeous.

So it sounds like a modern Persona game? Count me in then.
