Well, the pre-orders on Play-Asia sky rocketed after the press release :P

But yeah, I do agree. I can't fucking stand censorship or people who complain about shit. Professional complainers.

Other than the stupid censorship (and strange facial designs) the rest of the game looks really intriguing. I'm sure it's something I'd enjoy playing what with the mechs. Now there's at least 4 games I want for Wii U.

I doubt "SJWs" have anything to do with this.

Japan and the US are different cultures with different values and levels of tolerance and acceptability. Not to mention that the ESRB and CERO rating systems are different, and the American publishers of Xenoblade are most certainly shooting for a T rating. No reason to create a conspiracy where none exists.

As for the game itself, I'll be getting it eventually. Picked up the Wii Xenoblade at launch but I won't do so here as it doesn't seem to have the same sort of limited print run.

I care! Not enough to cancel my pre-order or anything (not sure if anyone has done that or not) but it kind of makes me a bit sad that Nintendo doesn't seem to think NA can handle sexy clothes or something. (I'm still a bit salty about Fatal Frame V *grumble grumble*)

I mean I guess I can understand a bit that they would get rid of them for a lower rating, but it's still a little disappointing that I won't be able to run around in a bunny suit :(

With the original Xenoblade release on Wii in the USA, Nintendo of America allowed players to have access to the bikini outfits without censorship.

So something has changed NOA's mind since 2012 to 2015.

Like I said, they probably don't want a repeat of the following incident (and yes, it's still ridiculous and yes, it still sucks):
Controversy

Due to a Swedish controversy, Dead or Alive: Dimensions is not being sold in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. The concerns were raised when an internet forum user commented that three underage characters in the game could be viewed from angles that could be considered lascivious.

Concerns in relation to the game also rose in Australia, when certain media outlets criticized the PG rating for the game. After careful consideration, the Australian Classification Board came to the conclusion that it was not given sufficient information at the time to give it a correct classification. The game's PG rating was subsequently revoked. Nintendo has then resubmitted the game with a more detailed analysis of the game's content. The game was subsequently given the next rating after PG, the M rating, which allows any age to still purchase the game, but is recommended for more mature audiences.

I just wanted to blame someone!
(which I guess is often an issue)

But seriously yeah censorship and SJW's suck. Grown ass adults crying about what other grown ass adults can and cannot do.
Doesn't seem like censorship in the "think of the children" sense. More of an adjustment as to not alienate potential customers. If NOA wanted to include the scantily clad women, I don't doubt they could (or could have done so with much smaller changes, like putting shorts on 'em a la Bravely Default). Less a matter of not being able to publish them as-is, and more a matter of potentially making more money by tweaking them.

It doesn't have to mean ranting and raving and calls for boycotts, just money going elsewhere.

On the one hand, I'd rather have things stay true to developer intent...but on the other, I don't see a reason they designed it like that in the first place, so I don't particularly mind NOA changing it (other than the changed model looking awkward, but that's true of the game in general I suppose).

If you don't like the bikinis on the girls in your party, then dress them in some other armor. Problem fixed by player. Censorship not needed by publisher.

Unless they have unique stats I guess? To me, the outfits they swapped are more lingerie than swimsuits, with the fishnets n' all. Far as I know, the previous game's swimsuits were applied universally too. Shulk may not have had a bikini, but his board shorts made it as his alternate costume in Smash. I don't know if this was, perhaps, more selective.

What's truly annoying is that you can't dress your mechs up in bunny suit lingerie.
