Re: 2016 gaming goals and resolutions
With my purchases of a Dreamcast, GameCube & XBOX, I actually took a step back in my backlogging progress as I am sitting at 128 Unfinished games.
For 2016, I would like get under 100 games once again. I don't know if that is going to happen, but I would like to continue making up for all of the games that I bought this year.
Currently, my progress is at -25 for the year. I need to get to +25 for next year just to break even.
Maybe in 2017, I will get under 100 unfinished games, but 2016 should be more about making some backlog progress.

It helps to think of your unplayed/unfinished games as a library, and not a backlog. Or at least, it helps me to think of my own as such.Markies wrote:making some backlog progress.

My gaming resolutions for 2015 were to start dropping games if they weren't sufficiently entertaining, and also to start playing the Mother series. I did manage to start dropping games that weren't worth my time, and that was a big step for me. I still haven't started the Mother series though because the games look too twee for my taste.
Okay, so my gaming resolutions for 2016 are to play more of my Wii collection, and to finish a couple survival horror titles.

Re: 2016 gaming goals and resolutions
I would like to pick up two new consoles next year: the Xbox One and PS4.
lol just kidding.
I'd like to get an MSX and Mattel Aquarius. As always, I'll also slowly chip away at my enormous want list of games.
As far as actual gaming goes, I'll simply work through my backlog and revisit some old favorites.

I have never heard of this console but looking at it, it has super nice blue keys! I probably wouldn't be able to appreciate the games on it but man those keys...BoneSnapDeez wrote:Mattel Aquarius

Hey don't shoot down ps4 quite yet though...if history proves itself like it seems to do lately on the console side ps4 might be the jrpg powerhouse(at least it ps3 seemed more of one than wii was, wii had some don't get me wrong but ps3 from what I recall had more way more...). I actually need to invest a bit more time and effort in my ps4 than i did this year(which coincides with possibly installing a big shelf over my desk as a charging dock for everything, would definitely be more of a incentive to play if I had a dock up on a shelf and maybe a cord kept wound up plugged in front just in case for these wireless controllers or heck a few backups).BoneSnapDeez wrote:I would like to pick up two new consoles next year: the Xbox One and PS4.
I may have to edit mine a tad, but ehh I think my main goal will be to get the shelve/dock station setup, get backup charging cords(especially another ps3 one that's of decent quality and length), beat more, play more variety though. Which for part of that I need to find a decent aftermarket for r5, especially so if I ever get around to it I can play some decent Gen games...

1. Only buy must-have Nintendo-exclusives and highly discounted PC titles.
2. Sell, sell, sell!!!

Re: 2016 gaming goals and resolutions
Despite the lack of time, I'm incredibly happy with how I'm playing games right now and I hope I remain on the same track next year.
Basically, I play very few games at the moment, but I play them a lot. I have finally gotten into the mood of playing one game all the way to completition or abandonement, without ifs, buts or checking three other different games in the process.
So I think so far my only real resolution is to write more or, rather, to write better. I have 3 articles ranking 2000 words each, all unpublished because they are so difficult and complex that I can't finish them in time, I just get tired.
Basically, I'm not good enough to write these articles yet and what I should do is post smaller articles or reviews in the 600 word range which I can actually finish.

From reviews to the Giant Bomb quick look it looks like right up my ally as an action rpg I'd play. I can't wait!RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Actually sitting down and playing some games would be a good way to start!

Re: 2016 gaming goals and resolutions
That's another one I know I need to fully go through, I made it through superstar saga a few years back and haven't been able to find/pick up the others(and heck lost my bowser's inside story and just haven't made a attempt at it again yet since picking up another copy)...Not to mention I'd love to make it through every mario game(which means everything excluding galaxy, and the original Super mario), zelda, and kh that I haven't fully made it to end game. I think next year I'll take time, and try to beat them in order of release but I need to figure out some short or relaxing games to play intermittently(or at least some variety so I don't end up burnt out like I did this year)fastbilly1 wrote:3.
